Is she ready?
Molly has excellent obedience. She came to us pretty obedient but it seemed she had been trained with a very firm hand and with some love in the past 3 weeks we've managed to get her to respond well to treats and fuss rather than punishment. She sits, stays, goes to her bed when asked to, lies down, shakes a paw (too bleeding cute!!), drops her ball when asked, leaves the ball or food when told to and will not take it until given the ok to. I am so pleased with her. I'm thinking of starting some more advanced training like tricks or agility to keep it fresh as I know staffs get bored fairly easily and Molly is a fair example of that!
Is she ready? Where do I start? I can't really take her to classes because of our work but will have lots of time to do it with her at home. Do staffies respond well to more advanced training and activities. I get the feeling molly will do anything for a markie!

Re: Is she ready?
They respond extremely well! They're intelligent dogs & love active passtimes. Why not get yourself a cheap agility set & see how she does with it in your garden?

Re: Is she ready?
You may be able to get to some training classes if they are held in the evening, would this be possible for you ??
I ask because our local training centre does do evening training courses, may be worth looking into if you are interested.

Re: Is she ready?
We have an evening agility class not far from me, but they won't take bull breeds.

Re: Is she ready?
I have been told that they can shine at agility. In fact our trainer suggested it instead of advanced obedience for Callie, thought she whould really enjoy it. (We finished basic obedience with Callie this summer).
I still can't get her to do the give your paw thing , she tilts her head and then jumps on me and starts licking!

Give a paw is my favourite command. She's so cute when she does it too.

Re: Is she ready?
Yeah for sure! I worked my way up with Bis and am planning on starting agility soon! The behaviourist that I worked for previously has all of her (10!) bull breeds doing agility for their breakfast
Bis didn't even know how to sit when I first got her but she now knows sit, stay, wait, heel, lie down, paw, in your bed, wave, high 5, roll over and plays dead if you pretend to shoot her with a finger gun she loves training and will do anything for a bit of chicken! I say go for it
