We take Dexter for his lil chop, I'm glad we are getting it done but poor doggy! Will let you all know how he is once we pick him up. Hope he forgives us!

Ouch! poor Dexter!

He'll be fine, just a bit groggy & sorry for himself for a day or so.

Then all you have to do is keep him calm for a week - 10 days....good luck with that!

Thanks you lot, was horrid leaving him. I will be honest had I had a choice of vets we wouldn't have gone there, I know it's the one the rescue use but the receptionists were vile. When we booked in the one didn't even look at him and then over the counter went "is he a german shepherd" "No hes a staff" "Is he nine months old?" I'm so lucky with my vets - the receptionists are friendly & actually like animals! Same with the vets (now we've got the vaccination & raw feeding thing out of the way! ).

We will get him registered with our vets that we take the cats to once this is done. That one girl behind the desk in particular looked like she would rather be anywhere else than at work..I can't get my head round that. You look at animals ALL day and get paid for it, what's wrong with your face! Just checked some online reviews of the place and lots of folks have mentioned a rude miserable girl....bound to be her! Never mind, we don't have to go there again after today!

He's going to sit in a corner for weeks , constantly looking at where they used to be and then looking at you thinking , call yourself a mummy

Only kidding he will be absolutely fine, give him a big hug from Tilly and Tommy when he gets back

I don't understand why people like that work for vets!

Ta Dave, I will pass that on to the poor wee fella. Oh god it wrenched me when he went dozy and they took him off. Had to stop myself picking him up and running away with him

Our vet loves Bull breeds, the girls behind the counter always make a fuss of our 2 and 1 of them has a staffy rescue so we are pretty ok with ours

I could make big business with this, maybe dragons den would be keen....

Aw that's good, I'm hoping that's the kind of welcome he will get when we take to our usual vets to register him. Much nicer

I cannot believe the reception staff were so nasty, why work in a vets practice if you dont like dogs, numpty.

Never mind I guess it's the vet that counts really, did you think about reporting the receptionist.

I'm lucky, the vets and receptionists at the one Loki's with are all nice. Every time we went there one of them would come bounding over and making a fuss of him, giving him treats . I guess to some people it's just a job though and no amount of "OMG DOGS!" will make it better.

Yeah i rang our contact with dogwatch and spoke to her, she said I'm not the first to complain Not surprising!

Also, half an hour until we fetch him tick tock!

All done...he's home and looking bit shivery and sorry for himself. My poor lil dude Glad it's over though!

No, if he leaves his wound alone. Moo never had to wear hers, she left the stitches alone, but make sure if he isn't wearing it keep an eye on him Xx

As long as he leaves his stitches alone then no. You might want to put it on for the first 2 or 3 nights when you can't watch him!

did they give you his balls in a pickle jar , could be a great training aid . Everytime he's naughty just give a good firm no and show him the jar, sure he will learn quickly
