Should I remove the ball? Empty Should I remove the ball?

Post by PygmyParrot Thu Sep 27 2012, 19:47

Another question guys sorry..but Dexter has found one of the kids old footballs and we have played with it each day for a bit since he has been here. Today he seems obsessed with it, and if we put it away he won't move from the door or chill out he just wants the ball. We gave him a treat when it was put away but he went straight back by the door he knew it was behind. Should I let him bring it in and lie down with it like he was trying to earlier or have I done right in removing it for now? It's been like this all day despite two long walks and a lot of running about he won't sit for more than five minutes Smile

Noted Kathy, only the best for the little lothario! Bless him they have gone out for some al fresco style love now, and he's off for another walk with OH in a minute perhaps that will take his mind off her/it...whatever it is!

Janey...baby balls with little tails! Laughing

They all have toys they are obsessed with. If you clean it first it won't hurt to let him have it. You could also use it as a high value toy really just up to you

Funny Laughing Loki's love affair is with a monkey teddy that he also likes to kill. Bit of a love/hate drama thing Big Grin. I reckon it's OK for him to have the ball if he likes it, but it sounds like you'll never get his attention while the ball's around if he's so obsessed with it.

Ledger is completely obsessed with his boomer ball it stays in a bag in the cupboard under the stairs and only comes out to be played with in the park (too loud to be crashing around the yard). He will play with it for hours if allowed he completely forgets to 'go toilet' and I will struggle to get it back into a bag to take it home (it now has a heavy duty bag as he would rip the bottom off carrier bags and start playing again!), all balls are outside toys here as anything less than a boomer just gets ripped apart on contact such a shame that the basketball that the local kids were kicking against cars ended up in my yard a few weeks back and I didn't see it before Ledger got to it Wink
