Re: can staffs get on?
thanks these were last summer, we go every sunday morning{summertime} we are all friends and so are the dogs one week there was 10 of us and 13 staffs....we are all from a council estate hence we all have staffs....lol....despite what people think we are all responsible owners....we do about a 6 mile circuit across fields/woods and back up a main road.....peoples faces are a picture as you can see we have our kids with us at times........once walking up the main road {might have been the day in the pics}a bit of a posh woman had 2 collie type dogs one off one on lead, the one off steamed up to us her face was sheer terror, her dog ignored her recall and went on to try an attack ours, we just blocked it with our legs-obvious the males in our group wanted a bash but overall they were very good....as the woman got close she was joined by a man so i asked them in my best posh voice if they could control there aggresive dog as ours arnt used to it...the man in fairness was full of apoligies the woman semed to lose the power of speech......we have even bumped into plod on the canal towpath....a few joints were quickly in the water and the police were commenting how well behaved ours are and how bad owners make bad dogs etc......every dog in our group of friends is a beloved pet nothing else would be allowed.....only got a few thousand pics of dogs mostly mine....lol and a few like the sunday club....plus my old dogs...r.i.p....if you want to see them im your man.....thanks again.....

Re: can staffs get on?
Nice pictures man, love the pack pictures. Wish there was something like that around here.
I crossed an old man with a German shepherd in the park, stopped and talked to him for a while, and he was like "why have you got a fighting dog" "why are you walking him on a metal chain" "why are your trousers so low" he went on to say he walks his dog with 5 or 6 friends and their dogs, but dogs of my kind aren't welcome.
I just looked at him, laughed and said "i hope you have fun believing everything you read in the newspapers" and walked off. I don't know how some people can be so damn stupid.

Re: can staffs get on?
yep heard it a million times, i try to have a smart answer ready....hes a lover not a fighter type of thing.....my current lenny really is a lover not a fighter but lots still give him a wide birth-in fairness most people are at ease once they see his true nature.......of course no point being daft about it it can be in there blood-my previous lennox was very dog aggresive which i think was down to a few dogs having a pop when he was young...if they were waving a big white flag he was fine anything else he would be stuck to them like glue....its all a learning curve...ive bent over backwards to keep lenny safe-which i have done hes 3 now and loves other dogs but i think with a staff it only takes a bigger male to be growling etc for it all to go tits up...........glad you like the pics......

Re: can staffs get on?
Pleased to hear that Lenny is better with other dogs. I've never had a problem there, mine have always been fine with other dogs which is great because I just couldn't imagine tiring her out with lead walking, I don't see her half the time when we're out (very lucky to have such safe areas)she';s a loon.
And as to people stereotyping then those people are uneducated muppets!

Re: can staffs get on?
I get it a lot around my area, i live in a place where most staff owners are younger men in hoodies, but in fairness, most of them are nice people with nice dogs, there are exceptions of course, but in all, the most aggressive dogs around my area are jack russels and laso apsos, owned by old people who dont bother to control their dogs because their so small.
To be fair, i'm 19 and yes i do own a staff, but its so annoying to be stereotyped in such a negative way. If people looked past how i dress and how my dog looks, they would see how wrong their assumptions are.

Re: can staffs get on?
Their opinions mean nothing to me, i don't have any time for people that just accept the opinion of media and believe it as truth.
Its crazy how easy it was for the media to completely trash the reputation of a breed because of a few people abusing some traits of the breed.

Its really sad, and has caused a lot of issues, and as you say its the minority that have wrecked the breeds reputation

Re: can staffs get on?
Great photos, I only just saw this thread. We have a kind-of sunday club but the day varies!! But theres only 4 of us and 5 dogs, 4 staffords and a lab X staff. Is Lenny Lab cross staff cuz he looks so much like my friends dog Neo but lenny's head looks broader.
