Dempsey's at it again!

Took Dempsey for his usual boomer ball romp about 4pm yesterday evening & he's really getting stuck into it, chasing it around all aover the place & ignoring everything on any number of legs!

Well, a brown doberman called Dax, who we've seen before, decided to run straight at Dempsey, barking & bouncing around. Dempsey was a gentleman - he totally ignored the dog & I was really proud of him.

Now, we've seen this dog before, as I said, and usually after a few barks he goes back to his owner, good as gold. Only last night he didn't. He kept coming at Dempsey, over & over, barking & lunging at him. I could see he was getting the ump, so I said to the guy, "you'd better take him away now, cause mine's not going to put up with too much more".

He called this dog, over & over & tried to grab his collar, but he was having none of it. Suddenly, Dempsey turned. He'd had enough. He leapt straight onto this dog's back, making a terrible racket & pulled him down. Then he pinned him to the ground with his mouth open just above the dog's head! I've never heard a dobe yelp so much in my life!

I carefully went over & took Dempsey's collar, expecting a struggle, but he just climbed off the dobe & sat staring at him. Poor old Dax was off, straight round the back of his owner's legs. No marks on either dog, just Dempsey being boss again!

He certainly likes being the boss!

Yes, I think so. He knew it was his fault. In fact just before Dempsey turned, he was getting a bit panicky which I don't think helped the matter!

No harm was done to either dog, though. He's odd like that - very quick to have a go, but rarely makes tooth contact.

Don't think he will bother Dempsey again

Very dominant but i think its also very good of him, i'd rather mine dominate like that than tear into another dog. very bull like, i'v seen quite a few and never seen them actually fight only use their heads to head butt and their weight to pin down.

Jack Dempsey, the heavyweight boxer. Also, and this is a coincidence, his registered name is Frachadem Thrilla in Manila after the fight between Ali &, I think, Frazier.

There was a documentary on fraiser and ali the other night. What a idiot ali was in his time. Shame frasier didn't knock him clean out.

You must be very proud of Dempsey for restraining.
Goes to show how much controll you have over him.. you should be proud of the time and effort you have put into him too caryll =D>

The effort's beginning to show results, but it's a long haul! There are still times when he uses his selective deafness!

Aw he's making serious progress. Well done Dempsey. All the dogs around will soon know that Dempsey wont stand for any rubbish, Dax will spread the word!
