F.A.O Ella AND Lisa
hia Ella or lisa wondered if you've got any experience with bearded dragons?my son has one called tails and like his camilion he is'nt looking after them so its down to me to sort them out.the dragon is really lazy and does'nt move for days,he has live foods in his viv but cant be bothered to go for them,i was concerned for him earlier and picked him up and put him under his heat lamp and he seemed to get a bit more active and took some wax worms from me.i've picked dandilions from the garden and chopped them up for him,but he just does'nt seem interested in eating, any suggestions that you know,or is this how bearded dragons are ?

Re: F.A.O Ella AND Lisa
hi lisa thanks for the reply, the temp in his viv is between 30-40,his heat lamp has a thermostat in it so always more or less the right temp for him.i think i've just solved the problem,i have just given him a bath and he's really perked up and is eating properly again.his skin, coat what ever you call it was looking really dark, which i take is not good, but know its gone much lighter so i hope he's on the up

Re: F.A.O Ella AND Lisa
Sorry stella only just seen this!
Basic care for a bearded dragon is
DO NOT spray the viv with water it raises the humidity up way to much
heat wise they need a basking spot of about 100f and ambient of around 85 at the other end
They do need a source of uv lighting however these bulbs need changing every 6-9 months so check how old it is.
Also they need a day and night cycle so the heat and light needs to be on a timer to go off at night eg go off at 10pm and back on at 7am

Re: F.A.O Ella AND Lisa
Alot of the time its usually to do with the temperatures being a bit off.If you keep his hot spot at 100f (37.8c) as ella said and his cooler side at 85f (29c) he should be fine. Also (sorry if you do this already) dust his live food with calcium powder monday-friday and nutrobal sat-sun.
