Is he saying thank you?!
After every meal he eats, Bunsen then comes up to me (as I'm usually laying down on the sofa...) and really goes for it licking my arm. It's really cute and I like to think it's his way of saying 'Hey, thanks!'. What do you reckon? And does your dog do anything similar?

Not especially! But when she does its always the face she goes for! Not great after a fishy dinner

I've noticed that Rocky will, given half a chance, give anyones face a good licking when he is hungry. Just another of those little things they do

Im sure they do. Both mine do same. I feed after a walk then put my dinner on and go upstairs to take out contact lenses. While im sitting on edge of bed they thunder up and start liking me and fussing like mad. They seem to be thanking the provider, and they dont get food without sitting and waiting with it on floor while i prep mine. They know they can eat when i go upstairs and give them the nod. They have an instinct to hunt which you can turn to your advantage by providing a meal as they also have an instinct to be lazy lil sods. I do alot of training around meal times as they seem to be more reseptive to commands

It's more likely to be 'can I have some more' if he's trying to say anything!

Aww! Lovely.
Boo only does this to her Daddy, licks his hand for a good while, not often though.
I get burped at and farted on
Although.. I've always trained her not to lick my face as I'm just one of those people who really dislike it

He licks a lot too, and burps in my face. And farts, looks at me then leaves.
He seems extra vigorous after a meal and it seems to be a ritual!
It's lovely hearing about your dogs. I love staffys to pieces! X
