Seen this and thought it looks massive! But going by the measurements its not much different from Bailey! A few inches here and there haha! Is it just the camera/angle that makes it look bigger? Bailey is 17-18" to the withers, 16.5" neck, 18" head Laughing that dog in the video looks double the size Laughing

Yeah I knew baileys height and neck size but was pretty shocked at his head Laughing strange thinking his head is the same measurement as his height haha

I love the condition of the dog in the video! Would love to get Bailey like that, when he's of age for conditioning of course! But i just don't think the dimensions of that dog match the measurements given if you get me lol, looks a lot bigger than 18" withers and neck size n stuff!

I go jogging with them every night, they are attached to a walking belt so they pull me along as well as the running, obviously walking! and on sunday they are starting weight pulling too Smile

And then lots of tug games and making them really working at it and so on!

I've started jogging with Bailey but just taking it easy as he's only a year old on Saturday! Just wee 5minute jogs every couple of days! Will up the jogs as he gets older though Big Grin Was going to start him on a bit of weight pulling just for fun aswell when he's older.

Ok, managed to keep Max still just long enough to get his stat's Big Grin

just under 26 mths old:

18" to withers
19" neck
20" head
20.25kg (45lbs) .. with no fat Wink

The pit in the video has 1.5" bigger head, and is 25pounds heavier than Max !!!! Surprised

Well done for getting him to stand still! How on earth did you manage it Laughing

Bailey is 17-18" to withers
17" neck
18.5" head and unsure on weight, I'd have to guess 20-22 but I'm more inclined to say about 20ish lol!

Not entirely sure how I did it mate thinking .. but I new I only had a small window of oppertunity and took it Laughing .. tho I measured his neck earlier so I could order his new collar whew!

Has anyone else ever noticed the differance in muscle between a conditioned APBT and a conditioned staffy ?

There are (to my knowledge) only two breeds that have the slab of muscle on the sides of the rib cage like in the OP video ... and thats pits and bullies thinking ... even very lean staffys dont seem to have it i dont know .. I seem to remember reading somewhere about it being no coincidence that the APBT has muscle protecting vital organs like the heart .. which makes sense, but havent seen it on any staffy I dont think thinking

I'm sure I read somewhere to get the muscle over the ribs the dog needs to pull weights, could be totally wrong though lol!

Some APBT's definitely look like they have muscles on top of muscles lol.

Pretty sure that dog is on some of those supplements, those muscles don't look like they come from conditioning alone. I'm not a fan of overly muscled dogs.

After reading this thread, I've realized Saxon is a lot smaller than all of your dogs! Saxon's 16" at the withers, 14" neck, 18" head and weighs 38 lbs (17kg). He's strong and has good muscle tone, but he's certainly not ripped like the dog in this video, and I don't want him to be.
