Been trying to get hold of lamb spines (as suggested by Caryll) for Ralph to have a chew on.

Can't get them for love nor money - been into Morrisons but to no avial - and into every butchers within a 50 mile radius! Well not quite but you get the idea.

Anyway, lamb spines are off the menu for Ralph, what else along that line is good for him to chomp on? I think a knuckle would be too hard?

My pup has been chewing knuckles, ribs , legs, just about any scraps the local butcher has since 12 wks. He has a cpl of raw bones a week to keep his teeth in good order and loves them.
Personally I think ur pup will be fine with a knuckle.

Just ask ur local butcher for a bag of bones to give ur dog, last time I got given a massive bag, with about 10 various sized bits n pieces only charged a £1

Ribs & spines of any sort are fine. Have you thought about chicken wings and thighs?

I was always told never to give dogs chicken bones as they splinter when they break, I found Bulls Pizzles and stag bars perfect.

I believe it is only COOKED bones which splinter, well so i've been told - raw chicken bones are completely fine Smile

Any cooked bone is bad for your dog, but cooked chicken bones are probably the worst! Raw, however, as long as the chicken is fresh (or recently defrosted frozen), is fine. You can even give a whole raw chicken carcass (with all the meat still on it) to a dog & have a good laugh at how they try to work out how to chew it!
