Re: An introduction
hi allan, welcome and brilliant job with the fostering. Great Danes are a wonderful breed, so friendly... You are obviously interested in Staffs, do you think its a breed that you would personally like to own?

Re: An introduction
Yes its a difficult one to make a decision on, our staffies welcome any dog that comes in the door but they are still quite young at the moment so everyone is a friend, things may change, we hope not, but who knows. obviously the decision to own any dog is a big one and a huge commitment but from our corner we don't regret our two in the slightest. Hope you find out all you need to, we are still learning!!!AllanG wrote:Thomo the short answer is yes, I would like a Staffie. The critical point will be when!
Danes are wonderful dogs, I really love fostering them and want to carry on doing it for as long as I can. Although I've learned here that Staffies can and do live happily with other dogs, I think it's probably expecting too much for a Staffie of my own to accept a regular procession of lodgers into it's home!
There will probably come a time - hopefully a fair while from now - when I'm physically not able to manage such a large breed. If that time ever comes I'll certainly have a Staffie then.
Allan.

Re: An introduction
hi welcome.
on the contrary, having a staff that can act as a nanny to your foster dogs might be a great benefit to them. staffies when socialized right won't have any problems with other dogs. If you have a calm happy dog, then any dane you bring in will settle in a lot faster.
