Morning at the Roaches - pic heavy
This is a little rock outcrop just outside of Leek most famously known for the Winking Man (with the pub just down the road) between Leek and Buxton, had a ride up there this morning with all the kids Beautiful views and 10 minutes from my house . Did have a bit of a panic at one point though when Tilly started to wander as she was having a super time and Tommy went off looking for her and we lost them boyh in the Heather because they couldn't see us, all well in the end though
And one tired puppy for the ride back home

You been on the cider already Janey ??? . Tommy does feel the cold a bit more than Tilly , it was comfortable today with a coat on so the weather is turning a bit.

Wow it is stunning up there. Hubby and me have been on many walks around the Peak District area. It is beautiful there and so peaceful one of my favourite places in England.

Re: Morning at the Roaches - pic heavy
Don't really have to travel far at all Kathy , when we had the caravan one of our favourite places was a CC club site on the edge of Carsington Water near Ashbourne , about 40 mins driving with the caravan on the back. There are an abundance of campsites withing 20-30 mins unless I want to camp in Leek as there are plenty there too

Re: Morning at the Roaches - pic heavy
We had a walk around Carsington water once a few years ago. There is a giant ball of stone somewhere near the entrance I think with water cascading down it. I thought it was quite impressive anyway.
While on our walk around we saw loads of little tiny frogs crossing a pathway they were so cute.

This one you mean - the Kugel Ball
A kugel ball is a sculpture consisting of a large granite ball supported by a very thin film of water. Water flows beneath a very heavy, perfectly spherical rock from a spherical concave base with exactly the same curvature. A kugel ball can weigh thousands of pounds, but because the thin film of water lubricates it, the ball spins.[1]
Kugel ball installations can be found all over the world. Many are at popular tourist destinations, such as a science museum in the United States[2], a shopping center in England, a hotel lobby in Kuwait, and a botanical garden in Germany.
The term kugel ball originates from the German word kugel for ball, sphere or globe.[3]
