He will get 24hr security and a private cell with a TV and computer.
Meanwhile else where in the country 76 families have lost a loved one. This is not justice.

The prisons in Norway are different to the ones we're used to. They don't focus on taking away freedoms and justice as much as keeping them away from society while trying to rehabilitate them so they can become productive members of society. It works too; people are less likely to re-offend as opposed to people in the UK or US. Not that anyone cares about helping people when you can just lock them in a cell for a lifetime and waste another opportunity to improve someone's mindset.

Agreed. As soon as someone murders someone intentionally they should not have any human rights anymore. Same with peados, rapists or drug lords. They are all the most likely to reoffend cause they never actually stop doing what they are doing in jail!

This is the maximum the court could give him. I doubt he will ever get parole so will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Doesn't help the families at all though.

He will never be released if he appears to be a threat to the public, I believe in this case life means life. I think hanging should be re-introduced though.

Definitely.
He is no use to anyone. Even if he was ever put into the main jail he would just turn people and be a big arian gang leader. He is a hero to them, and they need to make an example of him and show people that his behaviour was completely unacceptable.

When i think about it from the families point of view (in cases where the offender is actually sorry and has accepted his fate) i feel bad.
In cases like this were he "wishes he could have killed more" and his mother said she wishes he would be killed....i have to just say well let that happen.
But another part of me wants him in a cell, alone, for the rest of his life. That's got to be worse than death...

I believe isolation is a much harsher punishment than death and is the better solution. I realise it's expensive to keep a prisoner but the prisons are always going to be open anyway.

Same as above really. I don't think government sanctioned executions are morally right. I also don't think having a death penalty acts as a deterent either.

Re: 21 years...what a joke
J, i have watched TV shows on murderers and they all basically say they would rather spend life in jail than die. The knowledge that you shall die on ...Tuesday....at 5PM...is more terrifying than "spend forever in jail"
As harsh as it may seem, i think that people who are never goign to be let out should be..put to sleep
They don't provide anythign good...they just cost people money. This is true of a lot of Jails.
