Warning: Proud Owner Alert
In the training and behaviour section, I asked for advice on how to get Loki to stop being super-hyperactive every time he comes into contact with the grass, cos I wanted to practice recall. Anyway, since then, he has calmed down so much (he's more prone to pulling when on the grass, to sniff, but besides that he's good now). So I've been practicing it with him a few times. Today I took him to the field for his evening walk, and oh my god he was brilliant he came back every time, but even when I'd ran out of treats he just wouldn't stop coming back to me. After a while there was a dog not too far from us, so I decided to walk as far back as the lead would let me (it was one of those extendable ones), while still keeping it loose. So he was all focused on the dog, then I called his name and he snapped out of his focus and just ran to me. This was a long time after he knew I'd ran out of treats too. Happy doesn't even describe how I felt if he keeps up with this, I'll be able to try him off the lead soon!
Also, Loki has a best friend; a Bulldog x Boxer named Buster. He sees him almost everyday and Buster's big but also playful, so Loki can be as rough as he wants without me worrying about him accidentally hurting him (like I do with the little dogs ). Anyway, his owner said that whenever I was comfortable with it, I can let Loki off the lead to play with Buster and get him used to it. It's nice having a regular dog that he can play with.
Sorry if it's all too much, but I'm very happy

It does feel so good when it all comes together doesn't it.
Very pleased to hear it all working so well for you and Loki. All the hard work is paying off, well done

While no-one was around, I let Loki off the lead today he was good, it took like like 20 minutes to realise he's allowed to actually leave my side
