visible third eye lid...
Hi,
Ever since my staffy Mika was a pup (now 11 months) I've noticed her third eye lid is quite visible, not all the time but fairly often (particularly when she's sleepy and when she has her head halter on for walks). It's quite red and she often gets eye gunk. should I be worried? She doesn't seem to fussed by it, but it worries me and doesn't look too pretty.
I've had strangers tell me off on the street for making her wear the head collar cause it "makes her eyes red". *sigh*
any insight any one has would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
B

Hi and welcome from us and Suki. Have you taken her to the vet?

Re: visible third eye lid...
it could be down to her colouring as blues have been to have some inherant eye problems one being a slight higher risk of cherry eye

Re: visible third eye lid...
I'd mention it to your vet. You shouldn't really see the third eyelid at all. Occasionally it might show if something's got in their eye & irritated it, but it should be rarely.
