Hello to all my fellow Staffy lovers
First time on here, so bit of background !!!
I'm Tina, been lucky enough to have had these wonderful dogs in my life for over 20 years now
It all started with Monty, Black/White dog, totally started my love affair with Staffies, he helped me raise my 2 boys, always keeping an eye on them, never leaving their sides and loved by everyone who knew him and his Staffy talking ...!!! Sadly, we lost Monty to Stomach Cancer, aged only 7, brave and loyal to the end. Absolutely devastated at losing Monty and couldn,t even consider getting another dog..........but, my husband at the time, in his infinite wisdom took it on himself to get us a Staffy pup...
My big Brindle boy Jake, complete opposite of Monty, still going strong now at the grand old age of 13. Jake is so easygoing, no staffy talking....prefers to bark....especially when the postie comes..!! Loves the beach, his family, roast chicken, and just pleasing everyone....Hates cats, so much so, he rammed straight through my neighbours larch lap fence to get to her cat, luckily had a cat flap, so cat was fine......I, on the other hand, was mortified, having not long moved in, and having to explain the huge gap in her fence........thankfully, she saw the funny side.... Jake is now almost totally deaf, sight is going, arthritis has set in, but he still enjoys life, loves his food and walks and we are so lucky to have him.
....and then to Lola, my beautiful Black/Brindle/White bitch, she has been my shadow since the day we got her 7 years ago, typical Staffy, doesn't think shes a dog, wants to be with you, even on walks off lead.....goes couple of yards, comes back, makes sure you okay, then off again....!!! She adores having her stomach kissed and will put her paws either side of your head, staffy hug I call it, loves coming out running with me, will often do 5 miles at a steady pace, 2/3 times a week, loves people, not keen on other dogs or cats, hates fireworks, thunder and the smoke alarm.
Lola has been off her food and bringing up bile this last few weeks, after numerous visits to the vet, we had her in yesterday for exploratory, worst news possible, she has stomach cancer, inoperable, and vet says just to let her go, but we have brought her home, don't know how long we will have with her, but while she is still happy and in no pain, we will be with her to the end, giving back some of the love, loyalty and support she has given us over the years.
Tina, Jake and Lola x

Hi & welcome to the forum
Great introduction but such a sad ending to it. So heart breaking to hear about Lola. Give her a big staffy cuddle from me and Blue.
