Hi my name is Nellie and I am the brains behind Manx Staffie Welfare.

A group of us put our heads together and decided we wanted to campaign for changes in the Manx legislation for Animal Welfare. We want to introduce an Animal Welfare Education programme into Manx Schools, get changes made in the breeding laws and obviously promote our beloved dogs back to the 'Nanny dog' status they deserve. We are also embarking on a charity to support the ManxSPCA in looking after the Staffies they get through the doors. At the moment the Isle of Man does not have killing laws and we want to keep it that way, but its going to take a lot of work.

I have a mad year old Brindle Staffie called Sheldon who is very good at tricks if offered treats and who when offered a cuddle nuzzles up to me on the sofa.
