hi i have two staffs one is 3 and the other is 9 months old. they are both house trained, but since about 3 days ago they have strarted cockin there legs and squattin when were out of the room. i recently bought the older one a new cage. im also thinking maybe its because my pup is now becoming a dog and there marking there territory, any input would be appreciated.

Only had 1 dog at a time and also girls so I'm not much help, could be dominnance I guess. All I can offer is to make sure you clean the area really well so they don't mark again.

Agree with advice above, try going back to basics. Let them outside to toilet every half an hour and lots of praise when do they go (outside that is).

What are you cleaning the area with where they have peed indoors? Try not to use any bleach as the smell of this may encourage it further. Non bio washing detergent should be fine.

I've only had girls but I would think it has to do with marking and remarking of territory.

Has anything else happened that they could be responding to? Any stress?

Last month me and my partner split then 2 weeks later I had to pack up and leave my flat, it's the only home Meiko has known with me. For a week before we left he started peeing in the house, even in the same room I was in, he did it right up to the day we left and has never done it since.

I don't know if I'm right or not but I put it down to stress

9 - 10 months is roughly the age when Maska started doing it in the house. We got a new pup about a month before, so it was either marking his territory, or him showing her he's the dominant one. He used to do it quite often, after which I'd clean it up, and I think he realised he shouldn't be doing it.
He still does it on occasion (luckily in the bathroon - against the loo of all places), but we just clean it up. Hopefully it will stop soon....
