nipping at face
i have a problem with my 4.5 month old staffie boy .... he is quite a good boy in general but recently he has started trying to nip at my and anybody elses(apart from small children) faces .... the other day the bt man came to redo the broadband and he wouldnt stop trying to nip at his hands and face .... he doesnt do it in an aggresive manner but im really scared incase he does do it to a child and hurts them ..... he is teething currently .... any help would be greatly appreciated

Training, corection, positive reinforcement, patience and time
Oh and lots of things to chew on, kongs, frozen carrots......

frozen carrots ..... never thought about those .... he has kongs and plenty of rawhides ( he will sit and chew on one for hours)

It just takes patience and consistancy but it is indeed a hard phase to deal with .

well i was warned when i bought him that at between 4months - 1 year he will go through a nippy stage ..... seems ive hit that stage
p.s ... he only does it when hes excited ( probably should have mentioned that)

Please take care with rawhide. It swells in the stomach, so if he chews off & swallows a large pice it could cause a blockage.
I never give rawhide at all.

oh i didnt know that ..... hes been having them since about 12 weeks and he hasnt had any problems ..... he chews and chews until its basically a mushy mess on the floor then licks it up
