LCD
I know its not computers but it's still technology.
I have a LCD tv in the living room and for the last few days it's gone funny. Starts with a perfect picture then after 5 mins the whole screen goes cloudy and will stay like that. But turn it off and straight back on again and it goes back to perfect for a few mins.
Daughter earned some money the other day by cleaning the living room/. Do you think she may have caused it cleaning it?
Any ideas what the problem might be? or how to sort it?
Thanks all

Re: LCD
does sound like a bleed of some kind of on the screen but then that would stay the same not disapearing what turning off then on .
so maybe its some kind of weak starter or transimiter not working properly so not giving full television deffinition.
and re the daughter maybe doing the damage while cleaning i really doubt as i believe may have been like this for a long time just you couldnt see the problem for the larger, chiness, curry, and other foods and bevrage you have thrown at the tv in disgust at nothing worth watching being on
so blue take daughter back out the attic give her the 50p back you payed for cleaning whole house and go and buy a led tv

Re: LCD
Try adjusting the settings as your first move. If it still does it it will be the tube effing up. It might be loose and not connecting so not lighting up on the first go or it might be faulty.

Re: LCD
Just seems strange that if you press standby and back on it goes back to normal for a few mins. So it is capable of working. Like it does a self test the something changes. Turn off and on it works until it self tests again If that makes sense

Of course you daughter has done it cleaning , go lock her back up in the loft , take the money out of her bank account and go get a new one. They are as cheap as chips these days so she might be still able to afford college after you've been in her bank account

Re: LCD
She's just finished college. Does that mean I can just take whats left in there? Or do I leave a fiver in to get her through uni?
I reset back to factory settings and set up all prefrences etc and it last over half an hour...........thought i had fixed it lol went cloudy all over. Turned it off and back on and back to normal. Been 10mins and still ok.
Might just have to turn it on and off all night

Re: LCD
I don't mind the LG Wazza, just at the moment it's a rubbish TV
Trying to watch a thriller loses it's touch when you have to turn the TV off and back on every 15 mins
