Some people don't think of dogs as living feeling creatures who crave stability and comfort

It's nothing that could cross my mind either.
I don't see what the problem is. Get up an hour earlier and walk the dog. Walk again at night while the other watches the kids, or buy a pram and all go together.
Rest of the time, what's the dog doing demanding they play board games with them?

honestly its pathetic seriously, they are both 28/29 and she cant so bugger all by herself not even walk too the shop. The dog will be better off out of that situation, saying they live in a flat no space etc they new all this before thats why im so angry.

Lame excuse. angry

Never even considered getting rid of Bandit when I was pregnant. My mum wanted me to, not cause he was a stafford, just cause he was a dog! She thought he'd eat the baby. Rolling Eyes

I adapted. At one point I had a new born baby & an 18 month old toddler. I had the baby in a sling, the toddler in a pushchair & Bandit on a lead - no problem! Laughing

She could do with getting a life of her own! By the sound of it, she needs some therapy.

I seriously don't get it. Its me, hubby, 3 kids and Charlie at home. If I got pregnant again, rehoming Charlie wouldn't even cross our minds. Even if we had another set of twins, we still would never even consider it. Charlie chills me out if I'm stressed, a good walk and play does me as much good as him. If anything, a dog is a blessing when you have a family, it gives you a good excuse to get out of the house!

Yes, it's funny, but when I got a bit stressed with having two very young kids & a hubby on shift work, Bandit was the thing that kept me sane! I'd put the kids to bed & go sit on the sofa with him - he'd snuggle up & I'd feel good again.

banghead banghead banghead They just dont think things through do they. Sounds like the young lady may need some help with her issues before the baby comes along. It's sad really.

What on earth is she going to do when the baby cries, needs feeding, wees all down her new dress - just when she's about to do something else?

newborn/young babies are more demanding than dogs...if they can't look after a dog how are they going to cope with a young child!??!?! I thought Jett was hard work as a pup and then my little nephew came along.I'm constantly having to run round after him.Atleast dogs don't scream and have tantrums like babies when they're hungry or they've pooped.

Terrible excuse. If it's not a working dog, it's part of the family, isn't it? Why get a dog if you don't plan on bonding with it? I mean, I guess we should value our own species to dogs...but I don't see why, dogs are the best Big Grin. When my mum was pregnant with me, my parents had a German Shepherd who was a nightmare; hated men, hated drunk people, would steal food, bite people without warning, almost blew up the house, etc. Yet they didn't get rid of him, they coped with the demon dog and me, and we got along great, apparently Smile. So really, it's probably just an excuse because they see how much hard work it'd be. I guarantee anyone that loves their dog won't get rid of it unless it's more or less a life or death thing.
