Mum and Dad saved by the staffy!!
Hello all,
First of all, apologies for the advertisement I posted, an old school friend was throwing her 2.5 year old staff out after 3 days because it 'snapped' at a shampoo spray. I tried to reason with her all night, but she said she was protecting her two kids, so it has to go...she was advertising it on facebook!!! I asked her not to put him on facebook, she said 'why not, someone gave him to me on a 'pets swap and sale' page on facebook, what am I supposed to do put F-ing posters on lamp posts?!'. Others were congratulating her for getting rid, saying her kids come first, and one charming lady said staffies are aggressive anyway and she got rid of hers because he growled at her. The original 'friend' also came back with 'its only a staffy'. Yeh, who cares about a staffy? I was just too upset by all of this and posted on in the wee hours of the morning just to do...something! Poor thing, breaks my heart. Snapping can be trained out, he was probably so scared keep being passed from owner to owner on facebook. Rant over, and I apologise again!
Now for some heart warming stuff. My family home set on fire 2 days ago. My mother was sat watching tv, and the family staff Paddy was barking at the door (note the 2 GSD did nothing ). He wouldn't stop. My mother took him outside in the garden to have a run, and saw the flames coming out of the windows upstairs. Upon opening the door which Pad was barking at, a ton of black smoke came out.
Because of his early warning (the smoke alarm failed ) she had time to get all the cats out, all of the dogs out safely and herself before the house filled with smoke.
Needless to say, he is now the favourite! Good boy!

Clever Paddy! He's a hero!
I don't know about the ad you mention - I think I must have missed it! But no, we don't allow puppy/dog sales on the forum. Has the poor thing found a new home?

Not yet, I did give her the number of the local dogs home where I used to work. I don't know whether she will take him or now though He deserves a better home.
I am also thinking of buying Paddy a superdog cape

Brilliant job Paddy. I think we should award him a medal. How badly is the house damaged?

Well done Paddy the superdog!
And as for your old schoolfriend - shame on her and be proud of yourself for doing all you could to change her attitude.
Here's some advice for you "Never argue with an idiot - they'll drag you down to their level then beat you with experience" though it never prevents me trying!
As for "it's only a staffy!"
It's time for selling dogs - or any other animal for that matter - on social networking sites, Preloved, Gumtree etc to be made illegal.

Steve76: that made me laugh. My mum is always going on about how Pad is a bit thick...naww, he is just too smart to be told what to do
The house is pretty badly damaged, but nothing the insurance will not cover. Everyone is OK, so that is the main thing!
