Dog Training Book
Hi can anyone recommend a good training book. Lily and Lola can be quite naughty and I think I need to start a strict training program. Thanks

Re: Dog Training Book
Its a tough one there are so many different styles and techinques or training out there so it would depend on your basic needs for training i would go on amazon and see what takes your fancy Dr Ian Dunbar is a good trainer but you could just go for a basic training book and adjust too your needs x

Thanks for your help. They are fine in the house its when I take them out the fun starts. I think I'm going to have to walk them separately until they behave. I need to go back to basics!

Re: Dog Training Book
It really depends on how you feel about certain aspects of training because they all have different opinions and methods. For example, we had a debate about bite inhibition. Some trainers and members here feel that teaching a dog to bite softly before teaching them not to bite at all is necessary whereas other trainers and members feel that teaching them not to bite from the off is the way forward. I would have a look at the methods and opinions of a few trainers online, and buy a book written by the trainer that you most agree with. Theme you know you'll be getting what you want in regards to training and results. Good luck!

Has Victoria Stillwell ever written a book? I've watched the program and I really like her training methods

I really rate her too. I'm not sure if she has, we'll have to Google it. I would think that she would have written a book though.
