New phone!!

Well, due to being a bit ham-fisted, and not too good with delicate things, I've avoided touch screen phones like the plague in favour of BB style keypad phones ... but after some deliberation, and the desire for a bigger screen for ease of use in the car, and off road mapping requirments ... I got myself a Galaxy SII yesterday

What a brill bit of kit ... just gotta learn how to use it now , but my daughter has the one before the SII (jealous much! ) so she can sort that out

8MP camera, 1080p HD video recording blah blah ... will be tested out on Max as soon as the rain bugg#rs off

I got one about 3 or 4 months ago now , still not worked it out properly though and always seem to be going the long way round , try taking some photos of Max in sport mode and see the weird results it gives you (3 dogs , 6 paws etc)

Still using an older model myself. Good luck getting caught up with the times

andy you should never get a phone that is BETTER than your childs. that could rip apart your family. i would be in serious rage mode if my mum or dad got a better phone thatn me lmao

my dad is phone illiterate. his doesnt even have a camera, blue tooth or the internet.

I still have an old phone also, can't get used to touch screens!

My Dad is exactly the same Hayley, he uses a very basic phone that just abouts makes calls and that's it. Forget about him ever sending a text, if he was to receive one he wouldn't know what to do with it . If it doesn't have any levers on it he is stuck, bless him. He is a bit of a Luddite but you gonna love em dont you.

I have the same one as your daughter Andy, the Galaxy S? How come you didn't go for the S III? That is the dog's danglies. As soon as my contract can be upgraded (November), that's what I'll be going for

Cus I could get the SII for £20.50 month on Orange, with unlimited txts, 100 mins, and 500mb !! ... the phone is £430 to buy , so over 24mths it will have virtually payed for itself

Not got a clue Andy , when did the update come out ?? I haven't really bothered messing with it much other than getting it to connect to pc to get a few pics off it and I had trouble with that over them stupid driver things

Is there much diff between the S11 and the S111? My oh wants the S111 but it's way too expensive - £40+ a month for what he'd want.

Dave, IS is the latest platform on Android, and the SII sposed to run even better on it and is even faster .. free download I believe

I got mine free for 15 quid a month when I renewed my contract 250 texts , 200 mins + family group calls free (me, my oh and daughter all paid from same bank account , jenny only has a payg so top up tenner a month) + all landline calls free on orange. Was a great contract that I took about 3 1/2 years ago and I don't want to let it go

I think so, so far ... and yeah, I'm a gorilla with stuff like this, but the screen is huge, so makes it easy for the sausage fingered among us

I might get him to look at the S11 then. I think the S111 is out of our price range.

Ditto ... I couldnt justify the price differance when the SII is such a good phone!
