Hiya
Hi there, I'm Sue and I'm married to Matt. We've always had dogs and got our first Staffy - Archie - last July, from day one he was an absolute joy, he went everywhere with us. Sadly, four days after his first birthday he died in a road accident. As you can imagine we are gutted. Our lives and home are darker without him. We've looked at other dogs/breeds but we have been bitten by the Staffy bug and as Archie's parents have three week old puppies we have decided on one of those and have picked a girl. She is different colouring but has the same white tip on her tail and we will call her Maggie after her and Archie's mum. My dilemma is whether to have her littermate who is similar colouring to Archie. I loved him from the minute I saw him at 10 days old but he I'm worried that I'm trying to duplicate Archie. I work at home and my husband can take the dog/s with him to work so we should easily be able to cope with two on a day to day basis. We have a local gun dog training club which is ideal for socialisation and training. But as our dog/s go absolutley everywhere with us my concern is that having two will limit where we will go (or be welcome) as one Staffy running around a friends house is one thing but two..? If anyone has any advise or can share experiences I'd be grateful. We're hoping to bring Maggie home on 30th July.

Re: Hiya
My friend has two staffy cross labs and they're never apart. Ones 2 years old and the others a year old, they always do everything together, he never really has to worry about one wandering off somewhere, and the other doing something else, as they're always doing the same thing. Apart from that, I have no experience with two dogs. Hope that helps!

Re: Hiya
I just fell in love!
On the front of getting them both, there are some concerns about siblings being more aggressive with each other. Also you will have to 100% make sure they are NEVER alone together to save unwanted pregnancy which with brother and sister could result in deformed puppies.

Hi & welcome to the forum ><
I've had 2 dogs at the same time but one has always been middle aged when we got a new puppy. I don't think I could handle 2 pups
They are both just stunning though

Re: Hiya
Beautiful pups, but I'd have to say just take one.
Two siblings are notoriously difficult to keep together. They do tend to be more fractious than two unrelated dogs.
I also think that two young pups, the same age, are very hard to look after. Both will need house training, both will need teaching basic commands & be taught to walk properly together on the lead.
I'd always advise waiting till your first dog is at least a year before introducing another pup to the scene.

Re: Hiya
Hi and Welcome
Sorry about the loss of your dog Archie, and congrats on Maggie. I agree with Haley and Caryll, but with the right training, and the patience of having two pups, it could be done. I have had quite a few friends who took two pups from the same litter, and they turned out great.
With regards to "duplicating" Archie - you might find that you choose a dog based on colour and appearance because it reminds you of Archie, but that dog will soon exibit his own personality and you'll find that you don't compare the two, because you will come to love the new dog for his own qualities.
Good luck though

Re: Hiya
Thank you all for your comments and advice. We're pretty sure that we'll just get Maggie and take it from there. We went to see her yesterday and she's gorgeous, her colour is changing by the day. I'll post more pics in the next few weeks. Thank you again x

Re: Hiya
Hi and welcome
Firstly sorry for your loss they do leave such a gap
I have always had 2 or more dogs but never from the same litter and I would personally steer clear of getting 2 the same age
Mine have always had 1 or 2 years gap but I know why you would consider it they are both lovely looking pups
