Yes they do. Under the road traffic act you need to exchange details/report to police if you hit a Cattle, Horse, *, Mule, Pig ,Sheep, Dog or Goat

How awful Sad and a hard lesson learnt for the family Sad

The driver should've stopped:

"The Road Traffic Act 1988

If a dog is injured in a car accident, the driver must stop and give their details to the person in charge of the dog. If there is no person in charge of the dog, the incident must be reported to the police within 24 hours."

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. You've lost a member of your family in tragic circumstances and that will take time to overcome. Keep your friends who understand what it is like to lose a dog close, they will help you get through it.

So sorry to read this, its really sad Sad

If the staffy had hurt someone, it would have been all over the news, so the driver should be named and shamed too devil particularly as he/she didn't stop - which is against the law mad
