Help
Hi
Can anyone help quickly please.
Bit of history - Lola was spayed 11 days ago. Had stitches out yesterday, vet said all OK. She has had a phantom pregnancy immediately after spay and has had medication.
Last night saw a bit of blood from vulva. Then again this morning and slight mlky coloured discharge. Seems OK in herself.
Anybody experienced same after being spayed, we are a bit worried.
Thanks

Re: Help
I've never had any issues when any of mine were spayed. I would call the vet, describe the symptoms and see what they advise.

Re: Help
When my Sky was speyed she had a bit of blood from her vulva too.
My vet did mention this may or may not happen and said it was blood that had seeped into this canal during the op.
Was it bright red blood or dark ( as in dead blood) ?

Re: Help
this could be afew things your vet is the best point of call here, but bitches can go through a huge hormonal inbalance after spaying and that can cause discharge and light bleeding, but also she could have an infection which also has those symptoms so a trip too the vet would be advised x

Re: Help
Dark red and thick suggests its blood clots from the op.
By all means have her checked by the vet, but i have a feeling thats what it is.

Re: Help
Hi All
Lola is fine, thank goodness, it was as Denise said. Felt so sorry for her, she was shaking like a leaf in the vets, what with the spay operation, then a phantom pregnancy, medication, then stitches out, plus thermometer up the bum yesterday
Vet said just to keep an eye on her.
Will post some new photo's of her later on her birthday on Barmouth beach, she loved it!
Bye for now x
