aye, found the tattoo topic, nice work you have had done love jap tattoos, na dont drive mini i drive a suzuki swift, stick some pics up of your tank mate, i love aquariums i have kept fish since i was about 17 always had a fish tank i used keep malawi cichlids and frontosa for years and used to breed a lot ended up with loads of tanks and become more of a job than a hobby so i sold them and i only have the one now. the oscars are proper pets they have loads of personality.

There great fish Janey because there so big they have personality, i can keep anything with mine other than the plec they'd just eat it, you need big tank and filter to keep them clean, but they are quality, Samson will sit for ages watching them

nice tank marty very well laid out and your oscars are mint, i like the planted tanks yours looks good i cant have many plants in mine as the oscars just dig them up and throw them around the tank so i just have a couple of plastic ones in, do you not have any bother with the oscars digging your plants up? also my oscars are ok with other fish as long as they are too big to fit in there mouths anything smaller than that and they are lunch.lol

its the luck of the draw with plants my last pair wouldn't have plants, but when i got these i heavily planted the tank and the just grew up around them and seem to accept them.
The sail fin plec is the boss he's about 14" srom head to tail, the oscars are about 9" roughly

i have just orderd some LED lighting for my tank should be here in the next few days a guy advertises on aquarist classifieds he makes them up himself you can get different colours white, blue, red, amber and green. i have orderd a strip of white and a strip of blue they are supposed to be much better than the flouresent tubes and they cost next to nowt to run i will post pics up when i get them fitted so you can see the difference i could give you his number if your interested, for my 6 foot tank its cost £63.00 for the two strips each strip has 11 modules that have 3 LED'S in them and i will get two power units that each have a 4 way power splitter so i can add more strips if i like and i can have either the blue by its self on or the white or both on.

not sure myself about the planted tanks, apparently these new LED'S penetrate quite a lot would be worth looking into first though if you want i could email they guy who im getting them off and ask him about the planted tanks i think you would need some red and blue in for the plants to get the right colour spectrums for plant growth. let me if you want me to get in touch with him,
