need help Empty need help

clio spent the whole day on the beach yesterday and as a result has swollowed a lot of sand shes been for a poo 5 times this morning and its just pure sand coming out now she keeps trying to go but really struggling to get anything out, any ideas on how to help her go quickly, is there anyway of unblocking what ever it is thats plugging her up ??

Try to get as much water in her as you can. Have you any idea how much sand she would have eaten?

If she is having problems passing it then a trip to the vet may be needed.

nothing more to offer , would have thought a mouthfull was enough for her to know it wasn't that tasty Sad hope you get her sorted . If you have to go to the vet can you please let us know what he does / recommends it's all good useful information Smile

she just been again, another pure sand "log" ? and i dont think shes been eating sand its just where shes been playing ball

Sorry i should have used the word injesting rather than eating as she obviously wasnt doing it deliberatly.

If she's ok in herself, and she's pooing ok (even if it is mostly sand) then I wouldn't be over concerned.

But keep an eye on her & if she's sick, or can't poo, or goes off her food then a quick trip to the vet will sort her out.

a few throws of a ball and shes back to her usual self, after passing about 2 pints of sand, she seems back to normal now, thanks

I think this is what I have to look forward to as we are going to the beach in a few weeks and Callie eats EVERYTHING.
