Re: mother rejecting pups
Sorry I can't help I've never bred but I'd say he needs to learn quickly about how to hand rear them and what their needs are! He can't panic he needs to get in control!
I'm sure someone else with experience will be on shortly!

Re: mother rejecting pups
Firstly, he must get the right equipment to hand rear them. Droppers, the right sort of milk etc. He must learn how to rub their bellies as soon as they've eaten to stimulate them to pee/poop. Before every feed he should try to re-introduce them to the bitch & if she won't have it, then feed them. But they must be fed about every 2 hours, 24 hours a day!
How is the bitch rejecting? Is she going for them, or just not wanting to feed them?

I'm sorry I cannot add anything further. Really hope they are OK. Tell him not to panic he will do just fine.

Re: mother rejecting pups
If shes a 1st time mum this can happen.
I would be tempted to get someone to hold the bitch down ( firmly but gently)
and let the pups feed, as they need that 1st lot of colostrum, once feed and toileted take the pups away until the next feed. It may just take her a couple of days to except the pups, the pups feeding from her will help her bond with her kids.
Were the pups born via a C section ? as it has been known for this to happen afterwards.

So she was still labouring with the 4th? Can't really blame her for wanting to get that out of the way before feeding and tending to the others. Glad everything worked out well - I hope mum and pups are doing great
