Re: HAPPY DOG MEDIUM JUNIOR
I havent heard of it but the ingredients are not the best:
Maize meal, poultry meal (14%), greaves, lamb meat meal (4%), fish meal, rice flour, poultry fat, beef fat, hydrolysed liver, powdered egg, sugar beet molasses, apple pomace (dried) (0.6%), sodium chloride, yeast (dried), potassium chloride, barley (fermented) (0.2%), marine algae (dried) (0.15%), linseeds (0.15%), yeast extract, artichoke, dandelion, ginger, birch leafs, nettle, sage, coriander, rosemary, thyme, liquorice root, mussel flesh (dried) (0.01%), chamomile, meadowsweet, ramson (total herbs: 0.14%).
Maize meal is listed as the first ingredient which means it contains that more than anything else, maize has been known to be an allergen for dogs and offers no nutrional value at all. Poultry meal.. can mean anything at all, what kind of meat is it, who knows? Overall, it shows that it contains 18% meat meal, which is nowhere near enough in my opinion.
What is your budget?

Doesn't sound good at all! Maize is the first ingredient which is of no nutritional value at all, and meat is only 14%. Very poor!
Have a look at these, and see if there's one there that you can get hold of...

No, it doesn't look very good. Could you change supplier? Arden Grange is much better than that and better than Pero IMO.

Definitely - if you're on a restricted budget then Pero's not bad at all!

Re: HAPPY DOG MEDIUM JUNIOR
Actually, based on a 15kg dog, a 12kg bag of Pero at £22.99 with a RDA of 300g will cost 40p per day to feed.
A 15kg bag of Arden Grange at £30.33 with an RDA of 230g will cost 46p per day to feed so very similar really.
People often forget to take into account that feeding amounts vary, generally, the higher quality the food, the smaller the recommended daily amount.
ETA: Just found the AG here http://www.monsterpetsupplies.co.uk/p-7218-arden-grange-adult-lamb-and-rice-dog-food.aspx for £29.99 but the RDA on the website is saying 237g per day for a 15kg dog so that's about 47p per day. The other RDA I was looking at must be out of date.

Re: HAPPY DOG MEDIUM JUNIOR
If anyone wants to work it out for other food, get the bag amount, say 15kg which is 15,000g, divide the 15,000 by the daily feeding amount which gives you the amount of days the bag of food will last for. Then divide the price of the bag by the number of days it will last for
So:
Bag weight in grams divided by daily feeding amount in grams = number of days the food will last
Then:
Cost of the bag divided by number of days the bag will last = daily feeding cost
And to think I used to sit in maths class thinking I'll never need to do maths in real life!

Re: HAPPY DOG MEDIUM JUNIOR
arden grange has come down in price when i was doing my resurce a year ago you were looking at 46 pounds for a 15kg bag .
plus iv never paid full price for pero always have a 5pound coupon so £18 with a free £3 box of dog treats.
i also agree about the given measures but i dont know many that stick to it if you put two bags of food out people would but the same amount in the bowl regardless of what the bags says haha
