Aw I love bulldogs! They're so cute. Contemplated getting one of them but apparently they have alot of health problems. They're bloody expensive too, between £1100 and £1600 for a pup! Your brothers is very cute Smile

What a beauty!

There's a pup round here that looks very similar in colouring to your brother's dog. He cost £1650! He has champion parents & 3 champion grandparents. They castrated him last week, so looks like he's not going to keep the line going! Big Grin

He's a real cutie, lovely temperament, very friendly. But I saw a dog snap at him the other day & he gave a really good account of himself, despite his young age (5 8 months old!).

Fantastic breed. I recently lost my almost 10 year old. She lived in three different countries and six different houses. Great with other dogs and people but the health problems can be concerning. Very nice pic.

I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The good thing is that breeders are finally trying to tackle the health problems, but it will take a long time & a lot of arguments! They're not all totally unhealthy, although none of them are super-fit. If you keep them slim & exercised properly they can actually be quite lively, strong & healthy, believe it or not.

have to agree with you there and the dog in the pic is under shot, just another problem with this breed.

But they are supposed to be undershot! That's the standard!

their only allowed to be slightly under shot, and when their mouth is closed you shouldn't be able to see the six small teeth in the front of their mouth.

I know that, but undershot is undershot! There will always be various degrees of it. Like in staffs and Bull Terriers where an undershot jaw is undesirable, there will be those that have a 'reverse scissor' bite, those that are slightly undershot and those that are very undershot. It's a very difficult thing to breed for, and you'll always get varying degrees.

Looking at the pic I can only see two incisors, and even then that could be because the dog's mouth is slightly open.

Anyway, Blue put the pic on here for us to have a look at, not to pull to pieces!
