My Beautiful Staffie Ben
Hi All, Bit of a sad one. Im new to this site, but I wanted to make sure that I found a site a like minded people who where dedicated to the breed of Staffies! Ive a 4 year old male, who I took on on a temp basis, his owners were fairly old and didnt realise how boisterous and energetic Staffies are. Sadly they have decided they dont want him back and even more sad, is the fact that I cant keep him . He needs a home thats full of life like mine is (well I do have a 4 year old!) and somebody who can spend time with him. I work and am out of my home for 8 hours a day and Ben is used to having somebody around him more ofton than not. It doesnt help that I live in a flat. He loves his walks, either in general or long walks in the country side. Im happy to post photos and answer questions. I dont want to rehome him, but ive not really got the choice, and Ben deserves better. Thanks Guys

The best thing to do would be to contact your local rescue centre who will be able to rehome him.

Re: My Beautiful Staffie Ben
Hi Kathy,
Ive tried. But because Staffies have been given a bad reputation due to bad ownership, they are full and wont take him . I actually had one lady at the blue cross tell me that Staffie was a dirty word!! I was gobsmacked! She obviously has never owned a Staffie cos she would know better! Its awful. I dont want to go the route of pts, but another place said it may be my only option .

Re: My Beautiful Staffie Ben
on the list their are staffie rescues... we cant allow private rehoming becasue the dog needs to be tested if he is fit enough to be rehomed.
Re: My Beautiful Staffie Ben
Oh Dear. Ok then. Like I said I have tried rehoming, and Ive had to keep local as I dont drive! He is fit and healthy, the perfect staffie really I just cant keep him. And as ive said ive had problems with centres accepting him. Nevermind, I thought it would be worth a shot. I do feel its a pts option at the moment. Thanks for your help.

Re: My Beautiful Staffie Ben
Hi,
I know this must be hard for you but I am sure the last thing you want is Ben to be pts. Have you asked the centres whether you can foster him at home and they'll look for a new owner for you, this will open many more doors as you don't drive, and give you a wider scope to find a home for him and to make sure he finds the forever home he deserves.
Just a thought x

Sorry but PTS is not an option, people who foster dogs take them on knowing they could be there along time before they are rehomed, or possibly never rehomed. Putting down a perfectly healthy dog is ridiculous, there are many breed specific rescues that will take him.
