Hello from KeithOT
Hi My name is Keith My Wife is Celia we have 3 dogs A14 year old Stffy cross called Babe a 4 year old Jack Russel Toby & Merlot a 21/2 year old brindle staff with problems. He suffers from seizures & is on medication but at the moment despite best efforts from vet he is still having semi seizures his eyes go funny & looks scared he rushes about blundering into things usually these 'attacks' only last about 10 seconds but he has been having a lot of them especially in the last few days it is getting expensive taking him to the vets especially in Bank Holiday we have insurance but still have to pay some money & it adds up. we are devastated by this it did seem that the medication worked but it seems that it is becoming less & less effective he is already on 2 different pills & quite strong doses (not maximun yet) We are worried sick we lost our 10 year old staff Brandy from a brain tumour 4 years ago & although Merlot is young we are hoping that he is not heading down that road. Staffs are suceptible to seizures I know but does anybody have any ideas we are desperate.

Re: Hello from KeithOT
Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and me.
Have you tried another vet to get a second opinion. I would have thought they would have done some scans by now.
Sorry I cannot be of more help but I'm sure someone will be along with more experience of it shortly.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about Merlot. I wonder if a second oppinion might be in order. Perhaps there is something else that can be done to help him out.

Hi and welcome from us and Suki. I've never dealt with an issue like that before but a second opinion or seeking a specialist might be a good option

Hi & welcome.
I would say that if the medication isn't working then you could either ask your vet for a referral to a specialist or go to another vet for a second opinion.

Hope you manage to get it sorted....can' possibly imagine how hard it must be to have to watch your dog have these seizures
