I should really make the effort to attend something as I'm taking Jenny to London from Friday until Tuesday (daddy daughter trip to see the Harry Potter tour) but to be honest neither of us are really that bothered about the royal family these days to me they are just a drain on my taxes

Did you tell her that you got the booze in special for her? If she doesn't turn up, what'll you do with it all? You can't waste it.

Re: Jubilee Celebration Weekend
four days off from fixing cars! so i'm fixing my cousins car, helping a friend swap an engine, then i have two cars to strip the interiors out of for a big swap round, strip all the suspension off my old car and get it ready to weigh in...
and i might have a drink on tuesday night
i'm sure i read somewhere that the Queen costs each person in Britain a whopping 90p a year, to be honest for a bit of silly tradition and the history of the monarchy, i dont mind paying that

We will have a good breakfast in London on Tuesday morning at the hotel then quick smart home for a few beers on the old bird. I'm off all week too so double bonus as it only cost me 4 days holiday including thid Friday

I begrudge paying even 90p to pay for a family that has the resources to pay for itself. Let them sell a couple of properties & live off the profit like the rest of the country have to do. We could still have the pomp & ceremonies, & the country would pay for those, but not for the day to day running of their lives. They can afford to pay that for themselves.

I'm working this weekend, and I live in the US, where it isn't really celebrated, but Saxon and I did take a trip to the park yesterday in his crown:
