Stereotyping - Guilty as charged. Empty Stereotyping - Guilty as charged.

On my walk with Dempsey this evening I walked past a green which houses back on to. Over by the back gardens I saw a small brindle & white staffy. Now, there was no way I could go & see if it had a collar on cause Dempsey was already eyeballing it & there could have been a problem, so I went around to the front of the houses to see if I could find if the owner lived there.

It was a row of 8 terraced houses & I decided to walk past them all to see if there was a 'staffy lives here' sticker in the window to save me from knocking on all the doors. Well, there weren't any, but 7 out of 8 houses were very neat & tidy, with mowed front lawns, clean windows etc. The 8th was a bit run down & scruffy.

So, what did I do? I immediately walked up the path leading to the scruffy one assuming that it would be the one with a staff.

The sad part is that it was the right one. Sad

No, she was very pleasant. But she said, "Oh, yes, he's always getting out through the back fence - I really must try & fix it, hahahahaha!" Rolling Eyes

About 50 yards away is a major road. I dont want to s

If you used my carpet as an example of a garden (as I don't have one) its a bit scruffy to say the least Laughing

Oh and I also sit on my doorstep and smoke as I don't smoke indoors and spent the day down the park with a few cans Big Grin

What hope have I got or Moo ?!?!? Laughing

I wasn't criticising - it just struck me that I assumed that it would be the scruffy one. No reason other than stereotyping.

I'm very, very naughty. Sad

Well, at least the dog was returned home and you didn't have to knock on all the doors. Kinda sad that many times stereotypes are so true. For me it is drivers and I tell my OH what nationality they are before we see them. Funny thing is 9/10, I'm right!
