hi
Hi Folks…..I’m new to the site and have never been on sites and forum such as this…ever….however I wanted to share a few things (especially photos) with people of a likeminded love for the Staffy breed.
Are you sitting comfortably….then I’ll begin.
This is a tale of both deep sadness and amazing joy so you may need a tissue or 2.
I have had 5 dogs in my life in total now…..3 Heinz 57’s (cross breeds) and the last 2 have been Staffies.
Paddy was the first Staffy and what an example of the breed he was…..with a head like a boulder and a muscular build that some blokes spend an age in the gym staring into mirrors, sweating over dumbbells and still never achieve. This fella took loyalty, friendship, temperament and comedic value to a whole new level.
Two years ago at one week to go before his tenth birthday, we lost him to the dreaded cancer……to say we were devastated does not do it justice……personally I was “man down” for weeks…..and after that I swore not to have another dog as I never wanted to feel like I was at the time EVER again…..that is until my wife’s friend told us a story about two Staffies that were being looked after by “foster parents” after being dumped on a golf course, starving and emaciated.
The first was a bitch of around 2 years old and the second was a dog of less than a year (who was believed to be the bitch’s offspring).
We took interest in the story and asked her for more details and photos etc…..just for interest you understand….there was no way I was having another pet…no chance!
Then the photos arrived by email…….OMG…….
1. How could anyone do such a thing to a defenceless animal is beyond me!
2. I actually cried to see them in such a state…….
3. One photo stood out more that the others…..the bitch just looked like our Paddy….spookily so!
4. The male died 2 days later…..
THAT was it……..we were about to travel 300 miles round trip to be introduced to a potential new member of our family.
We had to wait a few weeks after our initial meeting with Tia so that the foster parents could get her up to an acceptable weight and condition for the vet to give the go ahead to be re-homed….but after an amazing job by Rachael and her husband and their 2 dogs, we were able to pick her up.
Needless to say we now have another dog…..which I was adamant I was never going to have…(yeah right)……and what a dog she is……yet another r level has been surpassed…..comedic value, a right Diva, human on 4 legs…..and still loyal and trusting to the human race despite what has happened to her.
I just wanted to share this with you all and I know you will have similar stories and tales of devastation, joy and love that this breed and your particular Staffy will bring to your lives.
We are totally besotted and in love with “our girl” and over the coming months I will share with you some of our photos of this little “Diva Comedian”….that’s when I can fathom out the up-loading of photos on the site…..IT…..not my strong point!
Hope to hear from you with any comments you may have and look forward to seeing your photos too.

Re: hi
Thank you.....she was 7kg when she was found and we now have her at 18kg......she is a little chubby but nothing excessive and we keep a tab on it so that we dont make her too fat....but after all she has endured, a little bit of chubs is the least that she deserves....she's an absolute star.
