After coming across this article - http://www.earthclinic.com/Pets/acvfordogs.html - I started putting a tablespoon into Zeus's water bowl a day. Just wanted to know if anyone else uses ACV and what they think of it??

Good grief! I think I'd take all of that with a pinch of salt (not literally!). I fail to see how it can cure or prevent all those things.

Is there something with you're pup you're particularly worried about? I'd say the most important things to give a pup were a good, healthy, balanced diet and plain water. Adding a tablespoon sounds like a lot to me (especially if the person who wrote the article is saying one teaspoon twice daily for a 25kg dog).

Your puppy is completely adorable btw!

the reason i put it in was to cure zeus's dry skin, and its done exactly that. he had alot of dry skin falling off his skin, after a few days of giving it to him, the dry skin completely went. i don't put it in his water anymore as it put him off drinkin water out of his bowl, i put it in his food at breakfast, he doesnt know any different

I go on the guidelines on the back of the bottle, also in water it is massively diluted Wink

There are different guidelines I give roughly what is on the bottle, but Chance being 45kg get more then Harv at 22kg but i tablespoon is still only a small amount

I have ordered some to try for Polly as she has skin problems associated with grass/pollen allergies. I have thought about spraying it onto the itchy parts of her skin, as mentioned in that link, but am a little worried about the smell possibly attracting wasps etc to her when she is out in the garden or on walks.

i wouldnt spray it onto the skin, as i use white vinegar to deter zeus from biting things (which works a treat), he absolutely hates the smell. by putting it in his food, the smell of the food will disguise the vinegar smell, he doesnt know any different!

I read this on the website in the original post, so thought it would be worth a try as long as the skin isn't broken, if I put it in any of the water bowls she may not drink it and I know that one of my other dogs would avoid the water bowls.

For itchy skin or beginning hot spots, put ACV into a spray bottle, part the hair and spray on. Any skin eruption will dry up in 24 hours and will save you having to shave the dog. If the skin is already broken, dilute ACV with an equal amount of water and spray on.

I'm willing to try anything to help her as long as it doesn't hurt her.

yeah definatly dont put it in the water, as i did that with zeus and he wouldnt drink out of the bowl.

instead of spraying, id suggest putting some on your finger and rubbing it onto the affected area. by spraying it, it could go anywhere, and she could breathe it in, which she'll hate!
