What would you do?
I am having a few tough thoughts, in september I am starting full time in college with TV-Broadcasting which is a very busy course, and I am going to have to work a job full time aswell because I live on my own. I believe with me being so busy it will be unfair to Boss, I wont be able to walk him as much, won't be able to spend much time with him, and he would be cooped up in the house all the time alone. I am thinking that the best option for him will be to find him a home where he will be able to have more attention and be out of the house more. I am trying to get other peoples views, the thought of this is making me feel sick, I don't want to give him up but im not sure if I will be selfish to keep him and not provide him with a better home.

Re: What would you do?
When I got him I had not decided to go to school this year, I frankly thought I was going to be going back to school in a few years yet but it was either go now or don't go at all. Initially I took him in to foster and then have had him for alittle over a year and so the foster group wrote him off as mine, I accepted to take him spur of the moment because he was going to either go that week to foster or would be brought to a kill shelter. If I did have my OH living with me it would be a different situation.
I am trying to figure out alot more options, I will look into a dog walker as a option. I do not have family that can help out, they live far out of my city, and then my mums dog is way to aggressive towards Boss for him to go there for any amount of time. It seems like a dog walker might be the only other option.

Re: What would you do?
I live alone and work full time. Granted I'm not doing a collage course but with walkers we manage fine.
Moo used to come to work with me and a year and half ago I lost my job, found a new one but Moo would have to stay at home, I worried about it also, would it be fair, by the time I'm home I just wanted to chill and felt I wouldn't have enough time for her.
But you do, and you make time, and the time you have is even better
I walk her before work and then she stays with my mum, or I have a walker, or a friend has her.
Boss is your mate, it might be a change in both your routines but you'll make it work. Xx

Re: What would you do?
I only work P/T, but due to travelling, I can sometimes be away for most of the day (depending on shifts)
OH has 12 hour day.
Samson is walked before I leave for work, I just get up earlier than I previously would have.
He is then left with lots of toys, plenty of stimulating ones with hidden treats. Mid day we have someone that pops in to give him a walk.
When I arrive home, Samson goes out for a quick walk/play.
He then gets another good walk and play early evening.
With careful planning, it can be done
As others have said, no one wants to be without their pooches

Don't give him up, you'll regret it forever.
Look into recommended dog walkers & see if you can afford one for mid-day ish.
How long will you be out of the house for?

Don't give him up, find out about a dog walker. I have given up a dog before. It was a few years ago, not long after having my eldest. We were going through some really tough times and decided it would be best for Tyson to rehome him. He went to live with my brother and his mate so I still see him and get updates but I still regreted it every day. My animals now will stay with me for the rest of their lives, I would never put myself through that again.

Re: What would you do?
I can understand why you would consider this but after having him in my life less than a year I just couldnt give Ledger up I also live alone and work full time shift work. If you are going to be busy you may find that having Boss to great you after a bad day and then taking him for a long walk will keep you sane as others have said look into getting a dog walker hope you can find a way for it to work for you

Re: What would you do?
A good long walk before you leave and a dog walker would be a good option. If you live near campus you could also schedule your classes to give you a break to take him out as well
