Be vigilant in West Yorkshire!
Came across this on a group on facebook.
West Yorkshire Dog Rescue
Warning...HALIFAX area...2 men have been attempting breaking into Gardens in order to steal Staffies today, no one hurt except one of the theives as he was attacked by an angry lady owner...however he got away..please keep an eye on your dogs and please pass this on thanks.
There's also been 2 posts saying that their staffies have been stolen in Keighley on the same day. If you're in this local area, please keep an eye on your dogs!

Hope the next old lady to catch them has a better weapon in their arsenal like a shotgun

Yeah me too! Doesn't bear thinking about! I never leave my dog unattended, yet I read in the local paper not so long ago that someone attacked a teenage girl whilst walking her Staffy and bundled it into their car! It's sickening.

That's my concern also, I'm bloody tiny and Skye's a soft pudding! I rarely take her out on my own anyway but I definately won't be for a while.

Bastards. I'd like to be left in a room with them - they'd be strapped to chairs & I'd have a cudgel. Do I need to say what would happen to them?
If they tried to take Dempsey they'd get bitten rather badly - he doesn't take to strangers very well! Neither do I, come to think of it, and Dempsey's lead has several large D rings that would make very good knuckle dusters.

It worries me as my 12 yr old daughter walks Tilly regularly , though she is very good and level headed and only does the streets and paths

A certain scene from the Bond film Casino Royale springs to mind, where Bond is tied to the chair...... I really could

I have heard about things like this too. It does worry me when I take Buster out as I am normally alone and most of his walks are at times when not many people are about. We are lucky that where we are is a quiet town, but it doesn't mean it wont happen.

Re: Be vigilant in West Yorkshire!
The b............. I do hope whoever find those dogs, so the right thing and return them to their rightful loving owners. Lucky for me Pixee does not take to strangers kindly more so men! (Got to be cos of her history that we know nothing about) and its often me that takes her walkies. Having said that, cos I am deaf, I am always extra vilgant, have to be, and 2 weeks ago, I noticed a young lad watching us on the canal bridge, and started to follow us, I back tracked throu the woods, and made eye contact with him, to let him know I knew, (If that was the case) he soon turned and walked back the other way. Did make me wonder.
