bad news for Staffies in Maryland

This will make it impossible for renters with Staffies to find apartments. Landlords won't accept the risk now that the court says both owners and landlords can be held liable for these "universally dangerous" dogs--and we all know how lawsuit-happy our society has become.
I can understand holding dog owners to a higher standard, though I obviously don't think Staffies are inherently dangerous or I wouldn't have just gotten my Callie with two kids in the house! But landlords?
Thank goodness we own our home.
If you're a Marylander, Stop BSL has recommendations about writing to your congresspeople.
(The decision includes ABPTs, AmStaffs and Staffies).

B-More Bulldogs is working pretty hard to get it repealed: http://baltimorebulldogs.blogspot.com/
I was surprised the first time I found out that the UK's BSL included AmStaffs and APBTs, but not Staffords, because whenever BSL gets passed here Staffords get lumped into it.

Re: bad news for Staffies in Maryland
Just wanted to post an update...two Maryland state senators are introducing a bill to ban BSL in our state. It won't be heard during the upcoming special session (that's only for the budget) but hopefully in the fall. At least people are responding to this!
