Meet Dakota (forever smiling)
Hi all! Here are some pictures of Dakota (Forever smiling)
She is around 11 months old, has a very gentle temperament, share's her food with a neighbors cat, although if Pouncer (the cat) happens to run, Dakota will gladly chase
I feed her bone and raw food, she drinks RO'd water (fluoride in the tap water here )
She isnt vaccinated, a good diet is better than the crap used as perservatives in those shots (thiomersal\mercury in vaccines)
She hasent been away from me more than an hour maybe since i got her. She sleeps in my bedroom too, so dont be ignorant and think she isnt cared for.

Re: Meet Dakota (forever smiling)
Hi & welcome.
I, too, think you are taking a chance by not vaccinating. Whether she is with you all the time or not she can still come into contact with illnesses such as Distemper and Leptospirosis. I don't know where you live, but certainly in the UK Parvovirus is also a problem.
Do you, perhaps, treat her homeopathically?

Wow, thats allot of replies in such a short time!
Thanks for all the messages.
On the vaccine issue, each to their own!
imo, mercury isnt healthy for a dog or any other life form!
A good diet is all we need for a strong immune system, that is what prevents disease, whereas thiomersal (mercury) that is used as a preservative in almost all vaccines will hinder the immune system.
To me its simple, dogs evolved without vaccines! ever wonder why so many animals get cancer? surely brought on by a compromised immune system!!
I honestly want the best for my girl, and my decisions haven't come willy nilly off the top off my head either, there is ample evidence to what iv stated.
Now im not going to be the one to rant on about this, iv enjoyed viewing this site for several months already, great site, friendly people and beautiful dogs
I live in Ireland, in Donegal. Very few other dogs in my area, if they'r all vaccinated then there shouldn't be any worry then eh

Your first point, that dogs evolved without vaccines may well be true, but before vaccines were available many thousands of dogs died from Distemper on a regular basis.
No matter where you live, Leptospirosis is a danger to dogs. It isn't passed on by other dogs but by infected rat urine - invisible but deadly.
Also, you can get vaccines that are free from Thimerosal - most vets will order them in for you if you ask.

Re: Meet Dakota (forever smiling)
Its all about the immune system!
Im taking her to her vet on friday for a checkup, he has asked about vaccines (if she has received any)
I stated that a good natural diet and clean water (without fluoride and god knows what else in it ) will ensure she has strong immunity.
He actually agreed with me.
I will however ask to see the vaccine inserts for the parvo virus shot and the distemper shot, if they are thiomersal and squalene free, I will permit her to receive those vaccines.
however if those toxic substances are indeed in those vaccines, she is better off without.
Surely the cancer rate in animals\mankind has risen no end. Back to basics.

Maybe they're all thinking the same thing, in which case none of the dogs are vaccinated, and all will be in danger of Distemper, Leptospirosos and Parvovirus.

As I said before, you can buy vaccines without those ingredients in them - your vet should know where to get them. They may be more expensive, but I'm sure you wouldn't begrudge a few extra euros to ensure a healthy dog! I would also be concerned about getting a vaccine against Leptospirosis, as well as Distemper and Parvo.

Re: Meet Dakota (forever smiling)
Thanks for the info Caryll, i will definitely have those vaccines ordered.
its not a case of money but a case of keeping her natural, non toxic!
Im guessing here, but im sure all the other dogs\cats around are vaccinated. infact the vet seem'ed shocked i knew about thiomersal.
Also im sure my home is among the few in this whole region that uses water purification, sodium fluoride is no laughing matter, the current government promised to remove it from the water supplies before they got elected, only to ignore it when they got elected (typical)

Re: Meet Dakota (forever smiling)
I use purified water as well - I don't want to drink fluoride either!
Whether or not the other dogs are vaccinated isn't the point, I'm afraid - it wouldn't stop your own dog from contracting Lepto (usually fatal), Distemper (usually fatal) or Parvo (often fatal or extremely debilitating). Their dogs wouldn't get them, but yours certainly could.

If i can indeed get those vaccines without the mercury, i will ensure she gets them!
Before friday il have done allot of research on those vaccines. Best to be sure of what she receives.
I'l have much better photos of her soon, every time she heard the sound the camera made she moved lol, camera shy!

Dakota was the one pup out off the liter that walked straight to me, felt guilty taking her away from her family tho.
Im curious, has anyone else seen a similar marking as is on dakota's chest?
Her original family had named her, so in honour of them i kept that name.
it wasnt until recently i checked up the meaning of dakota. one meaning is forever smiling.
That answered two questions at once, why they named her that and if they had seen her smiley face
she really is like a child to me, good practice for the future

It's always difficult when you take one of the first pups to go! They soon forget all about their littermates, though.

sorry to hear that your pets developed cancer. Im happy to say tho, hemp oil (not from seed) has been proven\shown to cure cancer. now i dont say that lightly, my mother died of bowl cancer at the age of 48, i was 12.
I wouldnt go around just saying that if i didnt fully believe what i state.
search for : run from the cure rick simpson story.
Its ultimately a sickening truth that has no end of evidence to back it up. Keep an open mind, not so open that your brain falls out tho.
apricott seed has also apparently cured cancer.
One thing for sure tho, chemo (radiation) is barbaric in its effect.

Life is full of risks, however we can lessen risks with knowledge.
Im going by the principle; mercury is toxic\poison. As its in most vaccines i feel the risk is in giving her the vaccines rather than not.
Although as Caryll pointed out there are vaccines without the mercury preservative, which i will definately look into and most likely give to my doggy.
Its better to be cautious than to be blinded.

Please stop saying that this or that 'cures' cancer. You are not a doctor, and although there are stories online about apparent 'cures' these have not been scientifically proved or validated. Your views are your views, but not scientific fact.

The US goverment seems to think so

a university in Israel are also in the process of patenting a modified hemp strain (so they can sell it, and call it their own)
http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/pdq/cam/cannabis/healthprofessional/page1/AllPages
need i go on?
what is scientifically proven, is it not a repeated result using the same method?
well its been repeatedly SCIENTIFICALLY proven in that case.
Suppose mercury being toxic is a conspiracy too eh?
i could post linked info all day on this subject. Odd how no one is asking for money for that treatment, why isnt it "validated?" its hard to patent a plant, no patent, no money for big pharma.
Besides it would quickly KILL the cancer industry worldwide, all those trillions gone because of a plant.

Re: Meet Dakota (forever smiling)
OK. The first one is Cannabis Oil, and is being used in trials to help treat cancer victims - there is no proof that it is a cure.
http://scienceblog.cancerresearchuk.org/2011/05/05/cannabis-cure-for-brain-cancer-headline-is-misleading/
The second one is a drug that is being used on mice and is still very much in the experimental stage.
I'm not disputing that mercury is a toxin, and I have never mentioned conspiracy theories!

Well its the refined cannabis im on about. AKA hemp oil (not hemp seed oil)
Think outside the box, there is allot of proof its a cure.
just because officials prefer to no acknowledge it, doesn't mean its rubbish.
True you hadn't mentioned conspiracy theory's, but between the lines that is the impression.
If you really need a "person" in a white lab coat or with phd attached to their name to confirm something then i'd suggest you try to realise names and overcoats aren't the be all and end all.

Please don't 'read between the lines' with me - if I think something I say it - I don't beat about the bush. I didn't say the treatment was rubbish - again you have put words into my mouth. I'm just saying that it (cannabis oil - not cannabis) is not a cure, it's a treatment; and it's a treatment that is in experimental stages & not wholly proven.
And yes, I'd rather believe a 'man in a white coat' who has many, many years of experience and much academic acheivement than someone who just wants to have cannabis made legal, or who 'thinks' that something is good when it hasn't been properly tested.
Back in the 60s the drug Thalidomide was used as a wonder drug for pregnancy morning sickness - to disastrous results; all because it had not been tested thoroughly.

I'm just saying that it (cannabis oil - not cannabis) is not a cure, it's a treatment; and it's a treatment that is in experimental stages & not wholly proven.
And yes, I'd rather believe a 'man in a white coat' who has many, many years of experience and much academic achievement than someone who just wants to have cannabis made legal, or who 'thinks' that something is good when it hasn't been properly tested.
Back in the 60s the drug Thalidomide was used as a wonder drug for pregnancy morning sickness - to disastrous results; all because it had not been tested thoroughly.[/quote]
Well i fully disagree with your claim its a treatment and not a cure. Do the research.
I could care less if "they" made it legal, after all legal applies to the person not the flesh and blood man. Person legally speaking is a corporation, acts apply to corporations. you are not a person, you have a person (legally speaking)
Well those white jackets are always keen to irradiate people (chemo), those same white jackets wont tell you that, hfcs (glucose fructose syrup) contains high levels of mercury, or that aspartame is genetically modified e coli feces (a neuro toxin) etc etc etc.
Hemp\cannabis is non toxic, side effects are being sleepy and hungry, compare that to the long list of side effects from the DRUGS those white jackets recommend.
not arguing btw

What a load of crap. Of course it's a 'treatment'. It doesn't cure cancer, it treats it. If it was a cure then all cases where it has been used would have been cured & that's ridiculous. Whatever you may think, chemotherapy has saved many, many lives. It may have side effects (we know it has side effects) but it puts cancer into remission in a lot of cases. Without chemo we would have many more cancer deaths.
The link you supplied about the boy 'cured' by cannabis does not give full facts. The boy was also being treated with chemotherapy. I think people can draw their own conclusions to that.
However, we are not a 'cancer cure' forum, we are a staffordshire bull terrier forum. Maybe you should keep your views on cancer 'cures' to other forums, set up to deal with it.

No, the 'crap' I'm on about is the fact that you say that cannabis is a 'cure' and not a treatment. That is absolute rubbish. If it were a 'cure' then every case would be cured bu cannabis & that simply isn't true. Cannabis can be used as a palliative, and may be helpful in some cancer cases, but there has not been enough reasearch into the effects, and there have not been enough positive results to form an opinion either way.
