I have found it is ridiculously difficult to obtain sharply focussed images when she is in movement and the percentage of rejects is very high. I am using professional gear as well, but she moves like greased lightning most of the time and the lenses just can't keep up as she is changing direction.
Here are a few that worked from a few weeks ago when she was playing fetch with one of her favourite toys:

Re: Bailey in the woods during the last spring time.
I have a zoom lens that is great for most situations and I used it on those spring time shots at the top, but when Bailey is running it just can't match her speed, so 90%+ of the images are unusable. Most of the time I just hit the shutter button with the winder on and hope to get a few good ones. In the end it's mostly down to a question of luck though whether I get some sharp ones or not. It was never that difficult to focus when I had the English Bulldog...

Learning about photography at the mo, so its good to hear it takes a while to get a great shot! Although I'm concentrating on still things! x

I definitely struggle more to get a good shot of Bailey than most other subjects and I've been shooting for 30 years now. With still images you can take your time to concentrate more on lighting and composition etc.

Wish I could take pics like that! Only got a simple (like me!) camera, but it's about all I can understand!

Sure no problem. Photography is actually my job so hopefully I've learned something after all these years
