Kennel cough?
Morning all... My staff has had a cough for about 3 days now. It started after she pulled on her lead to try get to a cat so I'm not sure if she has irritated herself of if it could be kennel cough? Its a dry hacking cough & she's trying to make her self sick .. Now it's turned into a nasel breathing in thing to where she's grunting & sounds pretty much ike a squealing pig? Tends to be started off when she gets excited its not a continuous thing although she did wake me up 3 times in the night noisy cow! Lol I've read up & some people say wait up to two weeks as may be kennel cough.. Anyone experienced similar? Thanks x

Re: Kennel cough?
Yep - Same as what Sam had ... Im leaving her to sleep so far shes had 2 coughing fits today -
Did sam have antibiotics?
Bloody dog lol 1st she had GI then spyed then she got cysitis & now kennel cough (I think) lol all in a month
Going to take her vets tonight...
Would like to know how she got it though - She hasnt been walked the last 10 days - vets orders. Thought it was caught from other dogs!?

just found this? Think Id rther treat her with pills though - she wont complain means she gets more treats that I hide them in lol
Think Lola must of picked it up from the Vets as she hasnt been allowed out since her op.
She was playing with her dog friend too all weekend who came for a doggy sleepover - Hope she hasnt passed it on :/

Re: Kennel cough?
I'd warn the other dog owners that she might have Kennel Cough so they can look for the first signs & get it treated.
Sometimes it'll go on its own, but more often than not it'll need anti-bs.

OMG, NO!!! That's a cough suppressant - if your dog has a respiratory problem rather than kennel cough you could actually kill it by using this!
You could use benylin to sooth the throat, but not a cough suppressant, and if it doesn't help within 24 hours you should see a vet anyway.
