Re: For none kc reg owners.
Haha it sure aint planet earth that i do know.
this is the comment.
Can we really consider, taking into account the recent petition handed into Number 10 about dangerous bull-breeds, anything that is not a KC to be a breed? I raise this only out of concern at the alarming rise of 'new' cross-breeds being developed and the risk to our children. As a concerned parent and educator i feel obligated to say NO MORE!!! If its not KC it should be illegal!!!!
WTF...............

How stupid can you get. I mean "new cross breeds being developed" kinda like the labradoodle that was developed? Speechless, really am

Re: For none kc reg owners.
So. All KC registered dogs have gantastic temperaments and because they have a piece of paper with a registration number on it they won't bite anyone?

Re: For none kc reg owners.

Re: For none kc reg owners.
It was in very bad taste, but they apologised when they realised how p1ssed off Michelle and I were getting. A lot of them own dogs that aren't KC, it was just a bit of banter between people that have known each other for ages. When I calmed down, I saw the funny side, I could imagine us all having a laugh about it too. Like they said, it just wasn't the best night for us to stumble across them!

Re: For none kc reg owners.
What if you personally disagree with the way the kennel club breed their dogs? What if you wanted a crossbreed dog to do a particular type of job e.g a lurcher for coursing? Do you think this person would have said that if you owned a labradoodle-are they 'ticking time bombs' as well? Aren't all rescue dogs non kc or cross bred?
Whoever said that to you has the IQ of a gnat. I bet they'd buy some shizyorkiepoo monstrosity as well, buy can a mixed breed toy dog be trusted?!
Also just because a dog is kc reg doesn't mean the parents are temperament tested or health tested or anything! ANY FOOL can buy two kc reg dogs and breed them, it doesn't take a genius. And as for the british bulldog HAHAHA they can hardly breathe and almost all of them need c-sections to give birth! If surgery wasn't available the breed would die out-that's hardly healthy is it?

Re: For none kc reg owners.
Seriously, it was all just banter. There's another topic in a similar vein on there started this morning, they're just having a laugh, they don't mean any harm.

Re: For none kc reg owners.

Re: For none kc reg owners.
So technically you could order replacement papers and show them if you really wanted to? Shame in those cases that the rescues don't pass on the papers and encourage the new owners to take them, it would be great advertisement for the rescue-they could wear the rescue collar in the show ring. They may not pass on the papers but they're still KC registered.

Re: For none kc reg owners.
im gonna sound totally thick here but do dogs not have to be entire and bitches unspayed to show?
Guest- Guest
Re: For none kc reg owners.
Yes you're right Hayley.
No Jade I don't think you would be able to order replacement papers for a rescue, it's all part of rescue policy I think.

Re: For none kc reg owners.
That's a shame. They'd get auto-neutered/spayed by the rescue anyway although technically they wouldn't be able to tell if a bitch was spayed and also you could always get ball implants for the dude.
So yeh that's what I meant by non kc and crossbreed. The rescues don't pass the papers on even if they are papered.

No, you couldn't do that. You get hold of a five generation pedigree if you knew the refistered name of the dog, but you wouldn't be able to get the registration certificate - that is only available to the registered owner of the dog.

Yes, they do. Although dog showing is considered to be a canine version of a beauty contest (and mainly it is) the actual point of showing is to prove that the dogs you breed/stud are good enough to win & are therefore good specimens of the breed.
