Stella's grown up...
Hi,
so it happened today for the first time ever...twice during one walk...other dog walkers stopped as Stella and me were approaching and asked whether my dog is friendly...I said yes and she was already laying down showing her belly anyway.
But I guess I have to get used to this?
I used to have a German Shepherd, a fantastic girl found starving abandonned as stray, it was back in Prague and staffies are not that common there, or were not then - I don't know how it is now, and GSDs have the "evil dog" label there together with staffies and pitbulls so I was used to it then and I will get used to it again but it is strange because right up until now everybody was smiling at her saying "hello puppy".
One of them said "You know some of these fellas can be pretty nasty, there is one red and white and he attacks all dogs, one dogs had his leg smashed and will never be alright again...he should have a muzzle...and his owner should have a muzzle as well because his dog is only a reflection of the owner's nature".
So we chatted a wee while.
Just wanted to share, I was so surprised to hear the question whether Stella is friendly...I always say yes she is and it's the reason why she has to be on lead because she would be all over you to play and lick you to death

Re: Stella's grown up...
We get the question, "Is he OK" as if he is some kind of baby eating monster Some people
We have also had the thing about him being muzzled but that was another issue.

Re: Stella's grown up...
Yeah I know...
People crossing the street etc. now I think I know a wee bit what to expect
That guy in the park was actually fine because he understood that it was more the owner of that other nasty dog who should have had the muzzle.
Sad nevertheless.
I just hope Stella will stay friendly, she is so funny now wagging her tail all the time expecting just love and fun...sweet

Re: Stella's grown up...
I get it as well only when I say my cute little 7 month old has issues with dogs running past alot don't believe me so now for other dogs safety I have to muzzle him he freaks out when they run towards him but he's ok when they are calm
He's great with people but the owners I rescued him from didn't have a clue
Skye on the other hand just loves everyone and everything so goes on lead as she will just bowl everyone over to say hi
I used to get it with my gsds I think the worst comment was u can't handle those big nasty dogs lol especially when they stood on loose leads whilst the person telling me this was having problems controlling his jr lol
You do end up getting a thick skin
