foster grey hound
received a call from the GAP program today, I am able to pick up my first foster greyhound next week! perfect timing as school holidays are on and I will be able to muck around with the dogs and settle them together.
she is 2 years old and black. apparently she is very puppyish still and her name is Christalia... might just call her chrissy or something. she hasn't raced before although she was bred and prepped for it, and the reason GAP took her on is because she was apparently being mistreated in her previous home.
so I'm very excited next week we will have a little girlfriend for Russell - even if it is only 4 weeks, I'll probably fall in love and adopt her. we'll see.

Re: foster grey hound
my sister adopted an exracer. they are treated badly really. one thing you must remember is that if she was prepped for racing she will probably have a thing for little fury things. my sisters dog will now play with bigger dogs but the little fury ones he thinks are fare play sometimes. they are dosile affectionate loving dogs just like any other if they are treated right glad to hear another one is going to be just fine. keep us updated and dont forget the pictures

Re: foster grey hound
as a foster carer, it's my job to socialise her and get her ready to be a pet. obviously she will always have to be muzzled and on lead in public, but I plan to get her meeting as many types of dogs as possible, though I am not allowed to take her to the dog park. My friend has a tiny white fluffy thing that I will be taking her on walks with to get her used to them (with complete control obviously)

Re: foster grey hound
hahaha I couldn't do that to the poor thing, she'll have enough trouble fitting in with Russell without him picking on her... unless I can find one sized for staffys
