I had so many problems re-homing from battersea the checks are so stringent, but its worth it, personally I would always re-home and unless you see the problem with your own eyes you don't understand. Its so so sad. I look at mine now sprawelled along the sofa and it brings back the memories of all the dogs in the shelter. Breaks my heart

Yer its really hard and I also no of people that have been put off by it, but the sense of achievement when you finally get them home is unreal!

But for every bad experience, there are a dozen good ones. I applaud the work that most rescue centres do on a very tight budget. I do think that they are far too rigid in their rules for rehoming, though. Have tight rules by all means, but sometimes a person comes along who doesn't quite fit their rules but would make such a good forever home.

I was thinking that it is mainly staffys i think if i won the lottery i would have to build my own rescue centre and take them all in and have them all as my babies lol hate seeing so many in rescues staffys need lots of love and attention and its what they deserve

At least there being fed and warm etc, if it wasn't for the home then who knows. Under funded and doing a job is hard. I didn't feel greatly about the dogs home I went too but rather they where warm and fed and housed.
