Lexi's vet trip
Started off dramatically. A yellow lab (off lead of course) ran out in front of my car and i had to slam on the breaks, so along with her problems she got a nice bit of whiplash too!
Anywho - got there and he checked her condition first. I must have misheard when the vet said she was 14kg last time cause she was 16.7kg this time and has definitely not been lighter than she is now. He said in his opinion she was very fit but bringing her up to 17kg wouldn't do any harm, but he wasn't concerned! He said she had probably been pining and stressing while we were on holiday which is why shes got a funny tummy and lost more weight in that 3 weeks than she would normally on a diet.
For the teeth again it was good news! He said she isn't in pain and there isn't an infection cause the pulp is still intact it's just broken off and he has seen it in many dogs her age before and he said it would be more painful, stressful and generally not advisable to have it taken out, so that's a relief.
So lexi is fine and has a clean bill of health! He told me though that there have been 5 fatal cases of parvo in my town so to be extra vigilant about letting her sniff poo and keep her vaccinated and boostered.
When we came out to pay there was a lovely little westie sitting. Lexi gave a little sniff but honestly didn't give a stuff that it was there! I was shocked, shes usually going demented and im sitting red faced. Emboldened i decided a little walk around the posh towns dog park was in order. What a lovely walk!
First met two little terriers and lex was a bit shy and uncertain so just walked past.
The next dog was this tiiiiiny little mini JRT (it was very cute for a JRT) that was running around chasing the ducks that were twice it's size. It came over and said hello and lexi had a nice little sniff and off it popped. It's owners walked past saying "That's a lovely little staff, it's nice to see a proper one and not a crossbred bulked out fighting machine" so i was very chuffed and thanked them (i guess he didnt know that a "fit" dog would be the size of lexi! lol)
Went past a few more dogs, one man picked up his little fluffy papillion and scuttled on by lol but i would have done the same thing honestly. With the other dogs there were no incidents, but she was getting more cocky and at the last had a little "gurruff" with a cocker spaniel. tbf the cocker was standoffish and it guruffed at lexi at the same time, so noone was at fault. She totally ignored and got ignored by the persons other dog so all was well.
Then to round it up we had to walk past a gathering of Cancer Action walkers and one of them had this adorrrrable springer spaniel puppy that came bounding over (it was on a lead though). It surprised lexi a bit and she ran away with her tail down and everyone laughed at her
So i'm happy, vets happy, lexi is happy and the sun is shining get outside!

Re: Lexi's vet trip
Thanks
Got her some denta sticks and a bag of treats and some toothpaste. She was very excited about getting her teeth done lol. She thought the brush was a toy at first. I think if a dog could laugh she would have been laughing.
Then i gave her the squeaky ball, she seemed to enjoy it too and kept bouncing on it. She isnt a very playful dog but she seemed to be in good spirits today. Must have been the extra fuss lol
