for the people who got kids

when did you last time have nits?

Mine are 17 & 19. They both had nits when they were in primary school - I suppose theywere about 5 & 6. I bought a nit comb & plenty of hair conditioner & got to work!

No, I suppose I was lucky. Mind you, I got at them very quickly & I didn't use those awful chemical shampoo things you buy in the chemist.

i can only remember having them once i cant remember if my wee mother or my wee father got them off me

just reading this is making my head itchy...

I've never had nits *touch wood* but working in schools I've seen it get around! sad some parents are too lazy to do the hard yards I've seen pretty little girls with shaved heads who make up stories like they did a "shave for a leukaemia cure" fundraiser so that they don't have to feel as embarrassed

I have 3 kids but so far so good. my little pocket roket on the other hand has just brought something home that made the wife complain of bites. couldn't find anything on Lucy so suggested the wife has a wash

My kids had them at a few times at primary school. Seems to go around amongst young kids. Nits spread like wildfire as we are obsessed with washing our hair too often. Sounds all wrong but nits love squeaky clean hair shafts to grip on.

i had nits when i was a kid. my mam used to go nuts cos my hair was down to my bum and really thick she used to spend hours on it but then she ended up doing the family of kids down the street cos thats where we got them and she was sick of it. my kids had nits matthew had them once gemma was terrible for them it always seems to more girls cos of the long hair. pete never had them till he was 31 cos he got them from gemma. well she was a daddies girl and loved cuddling up to him.

They're really easy to get rid of though. Hair washed every day for 3 days, using loads of conditioner & a nit comb. Then every other day for a couple of weeks with the conditioner & nit comb. No chemicals needed.

my two use to get them every year within a week or two of going back to school after 6 weeks holidays.

My oldest has never had them my youngest got them when she was 1......she had like hardly any hair and u could see 3 of the things running around on her head it was gross My friends daughter has literally had them from the age of like 4-10 constantly, she says she combs her hair every night etc but im not being funny 6 years! come on! your obviously not doing something right!

I don't have kids but I remember having nits specifically because I had such long, thick hair. I was five the first time I got them and I remember the agony of my mum trying to force a nit comb through my waist length, very thick hair, arg it was awful!
The second time was VERY embarassing because I was 10 and I was really embarassed incase anyone at school found out. My mum told the Head and they had to send out an anoyamous letter warning everyone! We caught them from my mums friends children who came to stay and our cat also caught fleas off them! EW!
Now my head feels itchy

We used to get checked by the nit nurse at school and if she saw any she kept you behind for a chat!!!! nothing like making it obvious.
