Doing So well!
As some of you may remember i posted a while back about skye and her possessiveness with food and treats towards vinnie and her jealousy etc and her just complete all round diva-ness haha .. Well i havnt kept you all updated so i will update you all now
I am pleased to say she is doing AMAZINGLY well i am so proud of her (i hope i dont jinx it typing this )
The food possession/aggression towards vinnie - Well, she knows that as soon as i pick up there bowls of food and make there dinner its all go! .. when im done making it and pick the bowls up to put down shes straight in her crate sitting down waiting like a good girl! they have there bowls put down at the same time if not skye a second or so before (she is the more dominant so had to take this into consideration) .. We wait untill both are finished then she can come out and she's fine!, no snapping because her bowls in the crate and vin's gone for a sniff, both bowls come up and away untill morning and then they are both left in the kitchen for half an hour while there tums settle before they come back in the living room or skye will up chuck because she gets excited lol.
The Jelousy towards vinnie - We make her sit and wait for her fuss, if she wants fuss she must sit give paw and then it stops when i say it stops, its on my terms not hers, and also she must sit and wait while i fuss vinnie .. Vinnie sits back and lets her get fuss and waits for us to call him over because of how she acted before but she is alot better with the whole thing now! .. we are still working on it still as she can get very excitable with guest's been over which is when we have to be EXTRA firm.
Walks - i am so pleased with her behaviour on walks, for example today, once a day if the weather is not soaking i take them up the field for one to one time and a good run on the extendable lead (then together later on).. Today she was on the lead and i had given her a little more lead to walk on the path's than i usually would as a trial, we was coming up to the road when i just said firmly Wait! instantly she stopped and sat down and waited for me! i checked the road as you do and said ok good girl go on then and of she trotted very proud of herself she is becoming very good with sitting and waiting and also on the long leads she will stop and come when i call her, she is excellent when it comes to meeting other dogs!, she will only approach if i say she can, she is unsure of large dogs when she is not with vinnie but we are slowly getting there aslong as i re-assure her and im near by she will have a sniff and if shes ok with them she will have a little play, we have to work on her with the dogs smaller than her for instance she was playing with two puppy spaniels at the park and she just over powered them ran into them and knocked them clean over lol i did apologise to the owner saying im sorry she dont know her own strength sometimes shes so clumsy, luckily the owners just laughed at her.
So untill thats sorted when she meets smaller dogs il keep her to heel for the sake of there poor lil legs lol.
So that is the update on skye's behaviour .. Im not going to say she is an angel because she has her moments as does vinnie lol but she is certainly alot better! keeping up with what we are doing and been firm with her is working a treat and will keep at it all the time as she is a tester lol! .. Oh and shes ate 3 beds in one week lol lil madam!!
Vinnie? well vinnie is my good lil man! he is amazing, only thing he needs work on is his BLOODY BARKING AT CATS FROM THE WINDOW does my head in lol.

Wow Kelly sounds like you are doing very well with Skye. I guess a lot of it comes down to how confident the dog feels with you around. By what you are saying she is feeling good with you and being more relaxed around you, great job well done.

Re: Doing So well!
Brilliant update on Skye kelly. Its amazing how things turn around as they get older. Makes all the hard work and patience in the early days well worth it.
